Greetings from Upper Michigan, USA

Post by Northwoods »

Hello from the north-woods of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, where we have some of the best modeling weather in the world (6 months of winter). I have been building models since the early 60’s and have been a member of the Upper Peninsula Scale Modelers for over 40 years. I have joined this forum because I was impressed with the skill of its members and the international scope of the contributors. It really shows how this is a hobby around the world. I have built many different types of models and been lucky enough to win awards at various contests and conventions. Right now, I’m trying to learn the art of ship building (1/700 plastic)! But my fat fingers and shaky hands keep getting in the way. I hope to share photos as soon as I figure out how.

Welcome Northwoods :hi:

Kind words there but you've seen little of my work yet  Most of us use Flickr to host our photos and just post the link in build threads. There is a limit of 1,000 pics but if you keep the size down that's more than enough:

Don't forget there's a great Youtube channel: ISM Youtube, a great Facebook site: International Scale Modeller a live show on Friday nights with great laughs, tips and hints and even free prize draws: ISM Friday Night Live at the Bench and if you have a webcam there's off-air hangouts where you can join live which I thoroughly recommend for those long winter nights: Off Air Hangout Group
