Kinda late to this thread but I'm currently working on the 1/48 Hasegawa SH-3H Sea king for Uncle Norm Dennison's buddy build. Current status:



Also some way into the 1/32 Tamiya F-4J Phantom resurgance. Current status:



Another chopper on the bench is the 1/35 Academy AH-1Z super-duper, lightning fast updated Super Cobra. This is at the seam checking stage:



Other honorable mentions as significantly started is the 1/32 Tamiya Spitfire Mk IVC, the 1/32 Tamiya F-14A Tomcat, the 1/35 Tamiya Chieftain Mk 5 and the 1/48 Tamiya Mosquito FB Mk VI.

Even though I can't seem to stop buying kits, my shelf o' doom is getting awfully crowded. Perhaps it would behoove me to tackle those kits that just don't want to get finished.

That's what I started to do at the beginning of the year. No more builds until I finish them all. Great idea , but the implementation fell down a bit. I started 3 new kits and got one off the shelf of doom. I'm now trying another tack. If I an two off the SoD I'm allowed in good consciousness to start a new one..... trying the reward system...god help me

I'v been really good this last 3 weeks....no buying new kits. Having said that there is a second hand sale on tonight and another on Saturday. I don't think I can ignore 2 sales I don't have the strength

They are so easy to use as well, not like the arc welders ( stick ) I started with.

As I had posted earlier, this is the spitfire I'm working on. It is my first and have learned alot on what to do on my next one, especially in the painting department. I just free handed the the tan with a brush and then filled in with the airbrush. Still deciding on what to do with the canopy...

So my last update was in May and I got really bogged down this summer.

I managed to complete the ancient Airfix Draken at the back end of May


Finally finished the Jagdpanther at the end of August


The Tiger is still in the same state it was in May


And I've got a Space Marine in progress for the extended Sci Fi SIG


So I need to be more disciplined because I'm like a few of the other guys in that it's the building process that I really enjoy and if I don't keep tabs on myself I'll end up with a shelf of unpainted (or half-painted) builds. The plan is to finish the Marine by the end of September and then complete the Tiger before allowing myself something new onto the bench.

I'm hoping that gives me a couple of months to put something straightforward into the Tracks & Wings GB as I don't think I'll have time for what I originally planned.

Well a month later and I've made some progress... the Space Marine got completed on time for the extended deadline


And although I'm now working on the tracks for the Tiger I did cave in and put together a Meng Kids Lancaster in a couple of weeks which was good fun even if I had a bit of help


So really feeling back in the groove and I'll continue working on the Tiger tracks and crew to get that finished off but have also fished out a Tamiya Mosquito from the stash to go into the Tracks & Wings SIG

Just read through this thread, and a pretty interesting read. One thing I've noticed is how many models most of you guys can get done... whereas I take quite a while to do one. Put most that blame down to having to paint with rattle cans and out in the garage - so have to make sure it's warm enough to paint. Either that or warm the paint in hot water and bring the part in after spraying the paint on. And again, can't wait to get an airbrush and spray booth, etc., etc.

I have gotten 3 kits done this calendar year and look to get one more done before we head for perfect vision on our calendar.

I actually started this in 2018... finished in 2019.



Really enjoyed this kit and learned a boat-load for the next MotoGP bike!



As I stated in the build and completed thread - this was a supreme challenge for me. Was really patient with it and at the same time wanted to keep pushing to see it through. A lot of fun with this one.



Looking forward to getting my son's Integra done - and then will jump on the Hasegawa Nissan R91CP that I just picked up. Also, looking to get the airbrush stuff before Christmas.

Wow a full month since a last post here
Only a little modelling progress, mostly internal wiring of the headless horseman.
He is not exactly inspiring me to work on him and I missed my Halloween goal to boot.
Weather will be turning colder and rainier soon so likely more modelling then.
Want to get some things off the desk and done

After getting really bogged down during the summer I seem to have picked up some momentum again and finished the latest project in just under six weeks which is pretty much my average unless I'm doing something stupidly big or stupidly simple. By comparison I checked back and the Jagdpanther took over twenty-four weeks from start to finish.

That damned Tiger is still lurking on the bench and is really looking set to be there into the new year as well even though I'm making slow progress between other builds.

Really looking forward to cracking open this box for the Winter Hovering SIG next - which should easily take me through to the new year.


So looking at a total of six completed builds for the year, one leftover from last year finished and two starts to carry into next year by the looks of things.

Be craziness if I manage to get 4 models done in a single year. Really been inspired by seeing the work on this site and have learned a ton from you guys on here, even though I probably haven't expressed that enough... It is December 1st now, holy cow full on Christmas crazy begins!
Work always goes stupid as the schedule tightens up and people need stuff done by the end of the year
My kit modelling has plummeted to an all time low. I have not even bought anything modelling for ages
Been to busy to watch much of live show or join a hangout...kinda fallen off the grid
The Headless Horseman build needs to go for a rest until next Halloween...yes I am gonna box him up.
I haven’t touched the big 1/8 Ferrari in ages, will try and pick away at it.
Damn, I seem to have a lag of building in the fall.
I am almost done the Baby Shark wood work thing and will then pick a helicopter kit to build along with the boys

doesn't matter mate, it's all good. None of us are on a production line.
