Soooo, I am shelving a project for later and taking up the helicopter gauntlet

My name is Scott and I have a Sea King problem.

Umm, ya so I got a Sea King issue.
I am leaning toward the 1/72 “‘Ol 66” as I would love that for a rescue diorama from the Apollo flights

Now part two of my problem is this...


I LOVE the Huey choppers.
I built two 1 /72nds into a little diorama as my first build on ISM in the Vietnam GB long ago


Thankfully someone else is building the big Huey so I am off the hook

Some complete Texas Yahoo sent this HUGE Gorgeous kit to me this year.
It is lovely and a bit intimidating. I want to spend proper time on it, but very tempting to try now

My Scalemates says I have a Tamiya Super a cobra 1/72 kit
It also says a Revell 1/35 Bell MASH 4077 kit
Both of those would be cool, just not sure where they are

The last on my list is a weird Canadian kit...weird and Canadian match up to me pretty well

Are you sea-king redemption from us?! I'm afraid we are already lost!

Some nice kits to choose from there Scott, I'm not the worlds biggest 'fan' of choppers but I do love a Huey. But being a Brit, I have a soft spot for the Sea King too, I would go with one of those.

You can build the Huey if you want no problem here. I will be doing the one with the beer drinker nose art so that leaves a choice of five others for you.

If you going Seaking then do the one that appeals to you, half of getting your mojo back is wanting to build it not doing it because it's there. That's a sure for the shelf of doom.

I would go for the best kit, which is probably the Merlin. The Kitty Hawk Huey might be good too but I've heard some horror stories about the brand.

HOWEVER, I know that's not how your quirky wierdy beardy Canadian mind works because I know you love a project and a challenge. I know you'll pick one that's a real tough nut to crack and it will be an epic thread whatever the subject.

I'd love to see the Apollo recovery as well, but if you're not up for that one this time around then the box art on that first Hasegawa kit is really eye catching.

Yes I am trying to get out of a bit of a funk in modelling and do need a kit to come together easily
But yes I am a complete dope and challenge myself with grandiose ideas.

Found the Revell Bell chopper...love to do a little MASH dioram

I do try to make something different and honestly my heart wasn't into the big Huey yet.You are dead on about being careful choosing to appease the mojo
So it was a good excuse to see that you had the Huey already planned.

I am still undecided, but leaning away from the Huey and Merlin.
