I have decided

MASH. 4077th version Bell H-13H

We shall see if it gets a base or dio but for now this us what I have decided on to start building.

It is like a freaking lawnmower with a rotor instead of a cutting blade and you sit up front there in a fish bowl like a target

Sweet! What is the clear canopy like? Big ol' piece of clear plastic I'd imagine?

Looking forward to this one, that skeletal frame will look great after your expert touch.

AW come on it would be fun.... Tell you what I'll strap you into one of those covered stretchers then you would only have to contemplate how blue the sky is. Ya see how I would take into consideration your feelings, just lay back and nod off. I'll take care of the flying....

Another MASH fan here, but those Bell choppers really do look like some kind of scrapheap challenge production!

Looking forward to seeing you build it all up (with or without brass rod!)

Yes not bad at all. A couple scuffs on top should easily polish, Future or Gauzy out

Lots of seams and such to fill on this beast.
Been gluing and puttying after work when I can
Got nowhere on this all weekend...had to do the wife's bidding and finish making a birthday present

No understanding of the time required in building scale models and always wanting obscure tasks doing like washing up crockery, trying to get the agoraphobic Greyhound to leave the house for a walk, that sort of thing.. Some parts into Ultimate grey primer so I can see the flash better

Then the engine into Mr Metal Aluminum and a coating of a very controversial clear so it won’t rub off on your fingers

Ready for detailing, accent paining and weathering

Thanks to everyone commenting so far

It is going ok and the kit is relatively simple
The detailing gremlins are trying to get a hold on me as I search engine photos and such
Trying to keep it relatively simple, but a wire here and a hose ther couldn’t hurt, right?

Nice work on the parts. Never thought about spraying clear over the silver to keep it from rubbing off

Maybe that is why when I painted the Lotus chassis my hands were silver....

Some really neat-looking spindly bits in there mate - plenty of room to cram more cables

But like Dan says - be careful it doesn't take over and bog you down or you'll never get it off the ground!

I was getting grief last night because I "wasn't helping enough"...funny how when you are tired after work some bozo who has sat on their ass all day needs to start a big project that could easily wait two days when a vacation starts....but ANYHOW

I escaped to the modelling room and messed with The Chopper a bit

Little summary pic

Put some lead foil in the seat back for some nose weight and a bit of girth to the touch.
I am planning doing worn leather seating in the chopper. Will use oil paints for that.
Getting set for the fuselage paint which will be a mixture of Ultimate Olive primer and the PC-10 green/brown I made for a WWI plane
Then I can get the engine in and detailed
I will likely use that W&N flat overall as these birds are anything but shiny
