It looks good, but practicalities might be a problem with that chair as it has no wheels to roll over that carpet.

That's not my proper modelling chair that's just a comfortable tub chair that I couldn't part with so it came in the cave for special guests lol

Not much done really since last update except from another oil radiator and some smart technology ie a couple of smart plugs so I can turn the rads on and off remotely and individually and a smart thermometer which again allows me to monitor the temperature while not in the cave I have also got some led strip lights now around the ceiling for the moody look lol oh and some timber to build some paint racks

The radiators are Plummed in better than this now lol

I like the look of the red the most like I'm at war on a sub

(Yes I am 12 on the inside) lol

The way I see it I've got Christmas off work (maybe) so if can get all the shelves built I can move everything that's left in the bedroom into the cave and sort it at my leisure, hopefully in a speedy fashion then I can relax a bit before having to decorate the bedroom for the wife but as they say happy wife happy life

Another update (I'm sure people are sick of seeing this now but it's nearly done)
Changed a couple of sockets to have usb connections on

Also built some paint racks one for each side of the cave with a shelf at the top for small figures and such

Also had a new spray booth for Christmas all I need to do to get this in is core a hole in the worktop and connect the pipe

I've also had some vintage gremlins toys a nice fluffy gizmo and a rubber bendy stripe along with those I got a joker figure (Heath ledger) version to stand with my Star Wars figures from last year

Oh and I also had a captain America shield which is awesome so had to have it front and (nearly) center I may have to move it over slightly to make it even more pleasing on the eye

I don't think I'll ever get tired of seeing you put this together. Gives me ideas for when i move out and turn one of my own homes spare rooms into a dedicated modeling room.

Well I've managed to core the hole for the pipe over Christmas cost a ridiculous amount of money really just for one hole but it was required to make it nice and neat lol

It looks good and will be a well used tool in the cave

Also built some shelves under the worktop

And had a really big clean of the cave again today in preparation for the last big move out of the bedroom and into the cave permanently a move I'm looking forward to making but dreading at the same time because although it's been a small space I've been used to working in I've collected some crap over the years and there's the flip side to having a brand new cave that's a million times as big as what your used to and all shiny and new is that it's all gonna feel a bit weird to start with and I'm not really one for change so it's all a bit funky while I want to move it just feels strange anywho here are some pics of the nice and clean cave

Hopefully the next update will be the last and I will be moved in and setting in it been an interesting and amazing experience building my own modelling space/cave one I'm not sure I have the right words to describe right now but I'm sure I'll find a few in the next/last post I make

It may have been expensive, but you did buy a quality brand or at least looks quality. Now you have the arbor the next cutter won't be so bad. Nothing like saving money and you still have the tool....win win

Yep not far off finished lol at least it's been done properly and not butchered like my first thought was lol drill a bunch of small holes and bash it out with a Hammer lol

Yeah it's a quality brand in fact it was the only option in the diy store lol but if I need another 114mm hole in the future I'm sorted

Well the time has come to do the last update on the cave I've moved everything in now and most of it is all sorted into drawers and cupboards just a few more bits to sort but on the hole it's all squared away, now I was a little upset dismantling the bench in the bedroom as I had been in there for nearly 5 years modelling but as with everything it was only temporary till I had somewhere permanent now as you see in the pictures I only had 3 feet to work with so was amazed how much crap I had collected over the years but another reason while I moved was a good old clear out

So all that was left was to get it all in the cave and in its own place overall I happy where everything is but it'll probably evolve over the next few weeks/years as my modelling changes from one subject to another lol but it's been the best experience building my cave and if ever you get the opportunity I say do it you'll never regret doing it, I'm really liking having all my paint in one spot and not having to rummage through boxes lol I've only got 5 full sets of paint but I suspect that'll change in the near future but for now I'm deliriously happy with how everything has turned out so now some pictures of it all finished

So I hope you've enjoyed following along with the build and found something in the process useful

It's been a pleasure to follow this project and see it finished!

It's a lovely working space and I think that when you get completly settled in and you look back to your old cramped workbench you will ask yourself "How was it even possible to get anything done here !?!"

I love how you have managed to organise the workspace and still have room for cool posters and stuff

One question; did you connect a wired Ethernet for the computers or are you using Wifi - I never got Wifi to work properly in my cave, so I had to connect 1 GB Ethernet

yeah I've got a cat 7 Ethernet cable from the house to the cave then got a router in the cave for wifi so I can have the MacBook hard wired and everything else can be wifi

I think he should go for the WiFi anyway. If his internet doesn't cut out during the live show we won't know it is really him.
