I've recently moved house, something work has had me doing for the best part of 40 yrs, every 2 -5 years, this move will hopefully be for the last time Because of all these moves a fair bit of my belongings have remained packed and/or in storage, for the first time, in all that time everything is in the same place and has been or soon will be unpacked. Somewhere in there are kits I've had since a lad

I unpacked a box over the weekend and found these, I made them between the ages of 12 - 16 I think Most are still covered in all the dust/crud from sitting on top of my wardrobe and shelving, when I lived with a parents. One was kept in a plastic bag, it being unfinished and is as it was the day I put it in there in 1978 Apologies for some of the picture quality, all are taken on my phone, hopefully Santa will bring me a new camera

After a clean a some simple repairs, putting bit back on that had fallen off. For some reason all but one of the figures has lost either one or both arms, the Chieftain has lost one of the rear drive sprockets. I've decided to leave them just as I made them
Tiger 1 I was 12 - 13, can't really remember. Is was the pained as close as I could get to correct (Graugrün) colour on the Box as I had.

Panther Kit note the barrel is incorrectly fitted didn't know that at 12 - 13 It was originally painted in Dunkelgelb, Rotbraun & Olivgrün, but I seem to remember painting it to match the Tiger for some reason

And finally an Airfix F-80C Kit Shooting Star I was 13 ish and I've not cleaned it, bit worried about buggering the decals I've tagged it on the end here to so as not have to repeat the the explanation elsewhere, hope you don't mind.

Wow, a real blast from the past. Those old Tamiya tank kits have aged well. Interesting colours too.

Sadly I have none of my earlier efforts. House moves and a lack of nostalgia did for all of them.

I had something in the region of 60 odd models as I remember, at 18 I left home and gave all but these and a few others which I've not found as yet to the boy next door. They was everything from tanks, space craft, ships, 54mm figures, planes, cars and motor bikes

Thanks mate and you're welcome. I did love modelling as a kid, and all hand painted to. I could build a kit in a weekend certainly a week, now days it take months
