Sounds like the appropriate colour scheme. Plus with that dusty landing pad it is just going to be matte dusted green in most cases. I think the pilots may have even left the canopy a little dusty ( not excessive ) so to cut down on reflections to the ground. Your doing a great job with it and like Stokesy said love the head phones. I found my eye was drawn to them straight off.

My head has been popping off migraines the last two days, stupid retinal ones with eye flashes
I am ignoring them and detailing the heck out of engine and interior, helps if I am focused doing something quiet.

Ok hope you are all comfy for this...

Making oil and water lines with brass fitting. Slicing them, resizing the interiors with a round file and attaching with Ca glue

Then the interior got seat belts..the paper ones from ULTIMATE
I weathered the floor a bit with light dirt and into the seats too

Then the cockpit got glued in. You can see some of the other lines I added. Nothing is accurate, kinda just done where things made sense. There is so much left off it isn’t funny. I had some thin copper sheet I cut some strips to make attachments for the lines to the framework.
The air snorkel thing looked stupid in plastic, so I took a thick black electrical wire and cut circles in it to mimic the accordion

That is enough for tonight

I feel that. Where my model desk is, there's pretty thick carpet from the 80's. Every time I drop a part, it's a search and rescue mission just to find the damned thing. I really want to rip the carpet up and just have the old wooden flooring from the 50's exposed instead.

Well, seeing you asked

Wires are tidied up and taped down, tail rotor base colour black and metal painted and dry fitted
Fuel tanks on and fuel lines added. I think those need some flat or green to dull them down
I also got the top part of the monkey bars glued in with sprue glue...lots to mess with to get it to fit

Had to remove the flimsy poor fitting rotor attachment and got lucky with a good tight friction fitting brass rod

The top rotor blade fits like socks on a fricken rooster...needs some good sprue glue, possibly a brass rod to keep it from drooping too much

I am getting pretty close to done with the chopper

Ya that is a old saying

Had an instructor always use it commenting about something you have made that is supposed to be fitting with tight tolerances...instead it is floppy like tube socks on a chicken leg

The main rotor is split in half and the bottom segment fits down nice and tight, but the top section will not go all the way home into place. It is floppy and tilts down low. I will get it set up after it gets its final paint.

It has a long driveshaft that sits on top of the rigging. One would think it runs inside the ‘cage’, but nope, dead on top.
I have it painted silver and it is drying awaiting sealing and weathering before instal. Fit is decent-ish.
I almost re-made it in brass rod but decided to not kill myself

It has been a very fun build with no mojo issues
The fit and finish is typical piss poor Revell mind you , but still manageable.
Having a Christmas holiday time for modelling helps too

Rub on decal for the numbers and I got the rear rotor drive mounted and weathered.

I found a great TV photo as well...these things were very dusty and dirty, so some weathering ahead on this build

She cuts a nice figure on the desk with the assist of rum and coke remnants

Ya she has about 2gm’s of lead up front and a nice healthy girth in the hand
The balance is pretty good and surprisingly Revell got both skids on the ground

So the funny thing is, every photo I look at has a different scheme and they used different versions of the Bell Heli.
This works in my favour as I am not making a SPECIFIC aircraft, rather a montage of different ones.
That keeps the rivet counting anal retentives at bay

Another nightly report to present, Sirs!

Decals are as done as I want them to be.
Alright everyone, have a little class, I have the decalling stuff out

Got the ULTIMATE clay wash and my India ink pin wash as well and gave her a once over, twice.

Got her a bit more dirty than I usually make my models, but what the hell. I can do a water wipe back with this stuff if needed.
