KittyHawk 1/48 UH-1 D "Huey"

My first KittyHawk kit and it went together well the only thing I did find that tabs sometimes needed to be thinned to fit into a couple of holes would I build another kit from KittyHawk the answer is yes.

Paints used-
Ultimate black primer
Alclad aircraft aluminium
Neutral grey for the interior
AK olive drab base and highlights
Final coat was a was 75/25% mix of sepia and red washes to create some highlights and recreate the red dust/mud of Vietnam that everything got covered in.

Good evening happy modellers

There’s nothing completed this week because I’ve been dividing my loyalties between kits. So, fresh from the paint booth with a coat of Tamiya rattle can grey primer is the Minicraft 1/144 MD83 on the left and a Revell 1/144 Airbus A.320 with a coat of Tamiya TS-83 on the leading edges on the right. Hopefully one will be completed by this time next week.

Evening ladies, gents and the live crew too.
This week I have not had much modelling time but I have been fiddling with a 1/72 Hobbyboss Mi-24V Hind and a teeny wee 1/144 Brengun X-Craft midget sub.
My little chopper (easy Dan) is primed and almost ready for paint, the sub has been base coated and is ready for some weathering. Good night all.

Hi Dan, this week I finished my 1/24 Aoshima McLaren F1 GTR EMI.

Great kit for the money. Loads of detail, fits as it should, carbon and Cartagraf decals. Built out the box bar the seatbelts.

Ultimate Gelb, Black and White primers.
Tamiya TS-8 decanted for the body.
Mr Color C-4 for the wheels, boot spoiler and wing mirrors.
Tamiya Panel line accent black where needed.
Tamiya LP paints for pretty much everything else.
Tamiya LP-9 barrier coat to stop paint bleed through on the decals (cheers Paul).
Ultimate decal solutions.
Splash 2k.
Novus polish and Tamiya Wax.
Ultimate Apex with both 0.2 and 0.35 needle sets.

Have a great show and a wonderful weekend everybody.

Evening Gentleman,
Since I'm also very untalented, I thought it was time I tried my hands on a car model (wink wink, nudge nudge).
It is a Platz/NuNu/Beemex/NuNu/Platz/Whatever BMW M6 GT3 kit. I saw these kits in Paul's cave tour video and I just had to order one.
The rewievs were right, this is not a Tamiya kit... I had to remove a suprising amount of flesh and heavy seam lines. After cleaning up the tail, the rear headlight openings became too large for the clear parts. I had to use plastic card shims to fill the gaps (still a work in progress). The seams around NACA ducts will need a lot of filling and sanding too.
I'm not good at making shiny things and I'm terrified of large decals so this one will most likely end up on the shelf of doom or in the bin, but I'm enjoying the build so far.

P.S.: As a 'Merc guy' with a BMW on the bench I was obligated to buy a Mercedes kit as well. :cheers2:
Cheers, Peter
