Question re: Flocking Application

I am about to use some "flocking powder" to replicate suede seat texture on the Tamiya 1/12 Ferrari F190.

I have never used the stuff before and have a couple questions.

First, what glue do you prefer using for adhering the stuff to the plastic? Seems like most folks use white glue or white glue with a bit of water, but perhaps there is a better way? Something more durable?

Second, how durable is the flocking coating once the glue dries? Does it remain fragile (subject to flaking off, etc.)?

If it is fragile, has anyone experimented with applying something over the flocking once it is on? I am thinking of brushing a diluted mixture of white glue and water, spraying on a matte clear coat, or something like that.

Would love to hear any wisdom anyone can share with this technique.

The oil took forever to dry. Have seen others use Tamiya x-22 as an adhesive. Fair warning, the flocking will get everywhere.

Thanks for that. Did you ever play around with any sort of "sealant" or anything to go on top of the flocking? Or do you think the flocking is reasonably durable as is?
