You could do it but it would need to look correct for that aircraft otherwise all you will ever get are the 'thats not right, comments even if its the best F-16 out there thats an untouchable build 'thats not right' will always be the first comment.

If you blast the canopy far enough away from the cockpit and aircraft, no one can say anything about it.
Keep at it Al, I can see the first stage formulations were just with skewer sticks.
Maybe a stretched clear sprue or a wire for support of the cockpit and a mess of pressurized air around to cover it up...in the form of cotton strands?

Yeah Hawky is right....google it...pic's of the pilot rocketing up and forwards and the canopy is way up and behind.
It will look awesome when you get it done.

I only find a Delta Dart diorama with an eject situation.
They added a light for the blast of the ejector seat
