1/35 Panther Ausf. A Normandy

Hi all.

I'm happy to be back on the forum after a long hiatus, bringing you the final results of my last build from several years ago. This is the ancient Tamiya Panther A kit in 1/35 scale, updated with an Eduard PE set and some Star Decals. The commander figure is from a resin Verlinden set. The AT gun is also an old, old, Tamiya kit, which should explain why I was unable to include the figures.

Thanks to everyone who commented on the build thread (link below); your input and encouragement were invaluable. I'm very pleased with how this build came out. I'm happy, as always, to take comments and criticisms. Now that I've been forced home from college due to the Coronavirus, I will probably be spending more time at the bench. (world's smallest )

The diorama depicts Panther 314 of the 9th SS Panzer Division Hohenstaufen, which was deployed in Normandy in 1944 and was eventually knocked out in the Falaise Gap. I've opted to display the tank alongside some traditional Normandy bocage.

One of those kits still stands up today and it's not the panther, unfortunately . The lighting of these photos isn't optimal, it isn't doing justice to how nice the pics of the finished panther look in your build thread, however, you did a great job on both of these kits.
