what else do you do while modeling

Post by krusty69 »

right now i'm listening to,the stand by Stephen king. very apt for these times :wall: . I watch you tube quite a bit, ism, the chieftain is good, love to watch him climb over all those tanks. forgotten weapons is also a favorite. I also watch a lot of documentary's on ww two, or airplane history's. and sometimes just a stupid sitcom to have something in the background.
what do you do?

Same, I tend to listen to audiobooks while working. At the moment Galaxy's edge by Jason Anspach and Nick Cole. And if not audiobooks, then simply to music.

I usually have Youtube running too, normally watch videos about the subject I'm building, I find that makes the whole experience a lot more enjoyable for me, very immersive.

If not, I just have the radio playing in the background.

Youtube or podcasts. I've got about 8-10 hours of podcast subscriptions per week, but I don't get through them all. I used to listen to more podcasts during work, but I've changed to mostly music. Podcasts work great for modeling, as I'm not likely to be distracted. Just need a speaker loud enough to hear over the extractor.

Various music score playlists on my phone through the stereo

War themes
TV and film classics
Star Wars movies
Harry Potter
Chillout compilations

Nothing visual is I think I'd find it too distracting.
Its been tried and tested, it works! So don't blame the system if you're no good.

Those are excellent books!! I've read all of them now so I am working through B V Larsens "Undying Mercenaries" series.
Other than the reading - I'm browsing YouTube like everyone else and - when the wife, weather and the dog permits I am practicing HEMA postas, cuts and colpe's

I watch a lot of The Chieftain, Forgotten Weapons and C&Rsenal. Other than that I'll listen to audio books (especially during a spray session.) Currently listening to Snow Crash. Next up is either Pandora's Box or The Guns of August.

My evening bedside book the past week or so has been "Honour Bound: Chauchat Machine Rifle" by Collector Grade Publishing. Great book, everything you would want to know about the Chauchat. I also have "The Devil's Paintbrush" which is all about the Maxim machine gun. The books are a bit expensive; but, you can find good deals either in local book shops or eBay. You just have to be patient.
