Tamiya 1/24 Jaguar XJR-9LM Final Reveal

This ones done, went together well for a kit of its age but two things to look out for there are no A pillars on the car this makes getting the glass to fit is a pain but it is possible with patience. The other is the fit of the rear body to the chassis not brilliant but it fits after a fashion. Would I build it again yes but slightly differently to the way I built this one.

PS I did look at my decals, the purple looks like hell
When I make it I will certainly spray the purple if not the yellow too

Scott for your comments and looking in, Im trying my best to knock a hole in the stash but I swear its alive and birthing kits now

I would make a jig to aid the fitting of the glass as on mine I think that the front edge of the roof had dropped and its only fixed to the body at the rear. Not a biggy but needs doing. I also think the rear chassis is on the thin side and needs stiffening up with a couple of bearers to aid the fitting of the rear body in a neater way.

Yh your decals look like mine did but when I looked closer at mine there were many micro cracks in them. Shunko do a replacement set for the car minus the purple bits but with the baccy advertising. May be worth getting a set as they went on fine for me, Hiroboy are sold out right now but doing a search with the part code should get you a set,link below-

That's a beautiful model and superbly built, looks fantastic!! Can't help but feel though that the purple from Zero paints is just too dark? Looks almost black on the nose section in one of the pictures or is it me? I'm thinking it should be the same colour as the background on the Jaguar sun strip decal on the windscreen top?

When I look at it in real life the purple looks fine but when you try to take a picture it comes out very dark so not much I can do about it really. Thanks for looking in and your comments

Okay, that would explain it then. I've had a few Zero paints that have been impossible to show correctly on camera. The Renault yellow springs to mind. It looked too bright and washed out, but in real life it was a perfect match
