The beaching dolly has been assembled then the forward fuselage sides were sprayed with gloss white and then the wood effect decals added. When they are dried out a coat of gloss varnish will be added.

Back to Felix the fuselage sides have been attached to the cabin along with the upper deck. some fettling will be needed to tidy it all up but now looking like a proper flying boat with the hull attached.

For looking in and your comments.

The upper wing has a span just under a metre so yes a tad large, the outer wings are removable just past the engines so storage/transport will be easier

It's size is one of the reasons I didn't add the kit to my stash, I just don't have the space to display it

The hull paintwork has been completed next up was the tail assembly and paint. Once the paint was dry the tail was fixed in position along with the four supports and then the majority of the tailplain rigging was added. Note there are still more wires to be added here going to the cockpit.

The canopy was masked off and painted and then fitted to the fuselage. Next the two RR 16 cylinder Eagle engines were assembled and given some light oil staining. Radiators,oil tank and engine bearers along with there support struts came next. After painting all the engines and bearer parts were assembled and any other pipework fitted. The two assemblies were then fixed to the wings.

All the parts for todays assembly were taken off the sprue then cleaned up where needed and then undercoated. When they were dry they were painted in there indicated colors and fitted as below-

The four lower support struts were fitted to the bottom wings along with the bomb racks and mechanisms.

The central struts that carries all the fuel pipes from the upper wing gravity tank were glued to the upper wing and allowed to dry. This assembly was then glued in place firstly by lining up the upper engine supports with there mating holes in the wings. The two central struts go through the fuselage top and are glued to the internal box frame at the front and rear of where the internal petrol tanks are situated.

This makes a very strong box section in this area to take the stress of those rather large wings when they are fitted.

Just the elevator and rudder rigging left on the fuselage this will be the last job. The wings have been painted and will have there decals added first thing and the rigging completed here. Started making up the guns five in all with a double set up in the nose most of the other parts are assembled apart from a couple of trellises/stands
