Kit bashed wasteland vehicles

Post by Panzón »

I used AMT's '60 Chevy Custom Fleetside kit, that includes a go-kart model, to build a couple of wasteland vehicles. I built the pickup truck as a scavenger vehicle:

The chain hoist and frame, roof rack, toolboxes and tools, front bumper, and armor are scratchbuilt from styrene, brass, aluminum, and miniature chain.

The corrugated sheet metal is homemade from aluminum tooling foil. The scavenged items in the truck bed are leftover kit parts and styrene, wood, brass, and aluminum scrap. The model is painted with Createx acrylics, and weathered with a variety of paints, washes and dry pigments.

I built the included go-kart kit into a buzzard style tire-shredder:

I used kit parts, parts from other kits, styrene, brass, aluminum, and wire for this build. The roof is made from the bowl of a styrene picnic spoon, and the wheels are 18mm Stevens International wheels. The expanded-metal driver's screen lifts to allow the driver easy access to the cockpit.

Wow that’s so cool, not something that I’d build myself but that’s badass, well done!
