Trumpeter 1/32 Swordfish Mk. I

So here we go with my first build log of Trumpter's 1/32 Fairey Swordfish Mk. I. To "enhance" the model I've also got the BIGED set and will use elements that I feel make a difference, as in the past I've put way to much energy into applying all of a BIGED onto a model and wondered why on earth did I spend so much of my life doing that. I'll no doubt ask similar questions when I finish this but hey we learn, we evolve, and hopefully the results get better. Hopefully the piccy's will appear.

I'm a little way along the build (I'm certainly by no means a rapid builder) but here's the only picture from the start of the build of the rear machine gun (yeh there are 2 bits of PE there) and the top section of the cockpit assembly.



Here's the 2 sides of the painted fuselage with simplistic weathering and the cockpit sub-assembly resting into the RHS of the fuselage



and an overhead of the pilot area.


It will come as no surprise that photography is not really one of my core skills


In closing this first build post I'd like to thank @Stokesy44 for a gentle suggestion on a previous thread, that the posting and subsequent commenting of builds is really what this site is about. It was just the encouragement I needed. Thank you Sir

Off to a nice start. Lovely interior colours and the PE looks nice. Worthwhile on an aircraft like the Swordfish because the crew are is so open.

Looking like a winner and I have the Mk1 too so really interested in how much Pe is needed for this and of course any trouble spots. Are going to build with wings folded or extended ? If I remember correctly there is a small trouble spot with folding the wings.

MkII in the stash, not had the nerve to start it! Watching with interest.

Looking like a winner and I have the Mk1 too so really interested in how much Pe is needed for this and of course any trouble spots. Are going to build with wings folded or extended ? If I remember correctly there is a small trouble spot with folding the wings.

Was initially going to go with one folded and one outstretched so I could display it on a shelf, but having come to my senses and found a slightly bigger shelf, I'm going for fully extended.

I don't know if you've had a furtle in the kit yet, but the PE that comes with the kit is more steel bar than

No not taken a close gander at the pe, just checked it was in the box and closed her up. Might need a lot of heat.
