Thanks guys!

I've started the exhausts today. I was dreading it due to the masking and heat staining, but I've got the metal bits from the Top Studio kit done along with the exhaust pipes. Primed, then gloss black, then titanium silver.

Going to leave it dry over night and crack on with the heat staining while watching the live show tomorrow!

The kit airbox was chopped off. There's a few resin parts that'll replace it.

Got some heat staining done. Never done with an airbrush before and I don't really feel great about the result. It's not the worst I've ever seen, but I'm not up for masking it again, hahaha.

Springs on and so is the metal exhaust and brass mess on the end.

Thanks man! Still a bit to go, just waiting on the new kit to get here so I can get the wheels on, then I'll be starting wiring her up, so that'll slow me down

Thank you guys! I'm well chuffed with how the airbox came out!

My second kit arrived today, so I have some wheels. I'll be painting them this evening with the Zero Paints again. I will be patient and wait at least 5 minutes between coats!

Thanks dude! I'm chuffed with how the airbox turned out. It seems the amount of wiring I done on the previous bike had set me up for this and it went together a whole lot easier than I assumed

Got the wheels painted up last night. The first set, the paint cracked, you can see a bit here, the other side has it all around the outside, too.

Image

The rear wheel was a lot worse and when I tried to remove the paint, it pretty much disintegrated.

New kit was bought as the sprue was the biggest in the kit. My second attempt, I'm happy with, just needs a clear coat to make it pop!

Image

Thank you for coming to my Ted talk!

Can't wait to get the paint down. This Apex is a dream, everything is so smooth compared to my Chinese airbrush!

Thanks man! Gonna clear them now!

Got a few bits done, trying something for the stanchions on the forks. Using a gold mirror fablon. Looks good, just need some glue to hold it as you can, see it peels.

Shite gold foil...of course!!!
Brilliant idea.
At the price moto kits and fork sets are going, you could use REAL gold foil and still come out ahead ;)
Great work :th:
Another visual demonstration why I won’t touch zero paints.

Thanks man! It was an accident, really, I painted the forks wrong. I primed them, then masked the forks and painted the bottoms first, then realised it would be super tricky to mark the bottom nicely. So I don't the legs and the stanchions were black and I was scratching my head.

Found myself in Hobbycraft today, saw that and thought.. Hmmmm, I wonder!

Got the clear on the wheels, ready for tires and the metal valves!
Image
Image

Calipers done, just need to remove the excess wash.
Image

And these are the top studio quick release connectors for the breaks. Again a tiny bit of the wash to remove when it dries and the clear blue or red (Can't remember) for the anodized bits to brush on.
Image

Love that you can see the knurling on those!

Thanks for looking in guys! :thumb1:

Been wondering what your real name was @LWWales
@jchrisf was about time you put your name in your signature as I was getting sick of calling you mate
Oh man.. being an American I was really enjoying that :thumb2: We never get called mate over here.. or friend as far as that goes. We don't have the cool names like you all do.
Ahahaha sorry guy :P :P
