swapsies.

Post by UKscalemodeller »

I was wondering if we might find it usefull to have a list of things we might want to swap, I might have a kit I don't really want but someone else might and also have something I might want.

Of course there would have to be some sort of disclaimer, saying it was between the people swapping and nothing to do with the site.

Paul/Lee, what do you think?

Sadly I'm going to say no as there's just too much risk with having problems the same as if we had a sale section.

I would love to have a sale section on here, but sadly there's a few dishonest people out the that ruin for us all.

You could do a random draw type of thing. Lets say that everyone who has something to swap posts their interest and then everyone involved sends the bits to one of the admins, then the admin involved mixes them up randomly and issues each person involved with a different bit (each person paying for the postage on the return leg too).
That way it is controlled and there's a surprise element into it too.
I did a similar thing years ago with a Warhammer 40k club and it worked quite well.
There can be only one!
Unless your building two, or three, or four - ah to hell with it.

Now that IS a good idea...!!!

I really like the sound of that. We could do live draws on the YouTube channel....

Let us confer ;)

I think it's a good idea, the only problem and I don't know if I speak for lee too, is it requires time from me or lee to implement the idea which for me is taken up at the moment with the forum, builds, video builds etc never mind my personal life.

If someone else (trusted) wants to be in charge of it then that's fine by me

The majority of the members are in the UK or in Europe so I don't think that it would be economical for either Luis or myself to do parts of it... the postage would be ridiculous.
Someone nearer to the main events should handle that part maybe? Another to handle the draws?

It's a good idea, but logistically speaking, it's a complete nightmare!

I can do the draws on YT no problem but, who ever takes on the job of distribution will have to contact each member get their money via paypal, package the kits up and then down to the post office to send it all. There is a LOT of trust involved and would need to be some one who has a LOT of time on their hands....

Once every 6 months or so might make it viable and affordable......

Guys i have just been reading this. Yes i know i am new here so please tell me to go away if you like lol This is the away to do it. Lee or Paul or who ever you like does the draw on youtube. So a number from a hate kinda thing. The numbers can be giving to us by the admin and you keep that number. So say Lee says to me right your number 007 (see what i did there:D ) and then the draw comes and lee pulls out 007 oh thats me.

But instead of everybody sending the admins the stuff we send it to each other.

So say my prize is from Paul he then sends me the prize. And say someone wins a prize that i own i then post it on to them.
