Tamiya Nissan Skyline GTR R34 1/24

Post by BOABModels »

So having built an array of Italeri, Heller and ancient Revell models, I thought I deserve a treat so I cracked open a 1999 vintage Tamiya kit. This should go together nicely!

I bought it from Hobbycraft for £21 when shops reopened in the Summer. This has been one of my favourite JDM cars ever since I first drove it (on Gran Turismo...)

Here's my unboxing!

Anyone else built it? Probably most of you!

The body is nice and I have used the same metallic blue which I used on my Subaru.

I have also uploaded the first video for the underside.

I'm making steady progress with this. The tooling is so good and it looks so much like the real thing.

I did the tail lights using red and yellow Sharpies. I found orange just looks red when I used it last.

Let me know if you're reading this because I'd love to know what people think.

It's looking good. I like the blue and the taillights came out great

Thanks a lot, Joe. Thanks for stopping by!

I had a go at wet sanding and polishing yesterday! I know I can do better in the future but at least I've not ruined it! 😂

The interior went together like a jigsaw - so well made by Tamiya.

I added a couple of different extras.

The car is now complete.

This is a brilliant kit, especially considering it is 21 years old. The tooling is very nice and it looks so much like the real thing.

Let me know what you think!

Cheers!

Thanks a lot, Joe. For me it was a no brainer to do it in blue.
