Tamiya Lexus SC430 Zent

Post by R36adelaide »

Ok next project on the bench. Another Super GT - this time the Lexus SC430. The best bit is going to be the decals for this kit with their metallic finish (like the Raybrig NSX).

First up is the suspension assembly and some parts which require some filling/sanding. You could criticise Tamiya for the lack of under body detail but these kits just look and fit together so well you can forgive them.

So time for a bit of an update. Most of my time has been devoted to making template for CF decals and filling holes in the floor of the interior. For those that have made one of these kit you'll know what I mean.

I have however finished the wheels, painted in a mix of Tamiya gun metal and chrome silver. I've also finished off the dash with the extra CF details added. CF decals added to the front lip spoiler too.

Thanks guys!

Got the body painted and the fade decals applied between the two colours. First time using Tamiya LP paints (mica silver) and very impressed with the result. The red is just TS-49 bright red from the can.

This is sweet. Paint and decals look very clean. Colour scheme is very similar to the Xanavi Nismo which I built recently. Looking forward to the finished product!

Glad you all like it! Making small progress - this time carbon decals are now done for the interior. All that is left to do is make up a set of belts for the seats.

Brilliant work of a cool but often overlooked kit. Very nice.
