Thanks a lot!
Yeah, I was surprised too but the connector goes in there and that's quite large. My video will be up soon so you can see what I did.

Lights are fully installed in the Hasegawa Jaguar XJR-9 LM!

I think I might trim this video down to make a tips video some time too.

I just had a go at printing my own carbon fibre decals.
The parts were painted with a mix of semi gloss black and aluminium 9:1, then the decals were printed on my black and white laser printer into clear decal paper.

I upped the brightness by 50% to make the lighter weave almost transparent and it let's the shine of the paint through.
What do you think?

Cheers, Scott! I really appreciate it! 👍
It's funny as I didn't plan to use LEDs when I started but I guess it pays to be flexible.

I'm looking forward to finishing now. Probably one or two evenings and it will be done I think. 👍

I really like that carbon fiber! Been toying with the idea of printing my own. Was it relatively stress free? I also may use lights on my RC30! You've inspired me, haha

Haha! Glad I could offer some inspiration!

Printing depends what kind of printer you have - this is on my laser printer which means it doesn't need clear coating afterwards as the ink isn't water based.

If you have an injet printer make sure to clear coat your sheets and ensure they are properly dry before getting them wet.

Also, from what I can tell, the advice about how long you need to soak the decals which comes with the paper is waaaay too long. They say 30-60 seconds but less than 10 was enough for mine earlier.

I think I have done the weave too large so I may save this paper for larger scale models and print some with a smaller pattern.

I thought it looked good but now that you mention a smaller weave that may look better.

I know what you mean. I'm going to leave it though as it is hidden most of the time but it adds something nice when you see it.

The car is actually finished now! I will have some pictures and the final video up soon!

Here's a preview of the finished car before I get the final gallery and video online.

I've also taken some photos outside in the dark!

So I trimmed down the penultimate episode to make a lights tutorial. I'm pretty happy with it actually.

Let me know if I could have done anything different! Also, I reply to every comment on YT so please comment on there too! 👍
