Industria Mechanika Sky Mark

Post by Panzón »

I finally finished my Sky Mark buoy. There were an awful lot of surfaces to weather.

Hello Mike, great paint job I wish that I could achieve the same high level as your self, was the model scratch built ? or is it a kit ? which ever it was it looks good.

Thanks for the comments, guys! Barrie, the Sky Mark is a kit from Industria Mechanika, and is based on the dystopian world of Ian McQue's digital artwork. The kit doesn't include a display base, so that is scratch-built, and I didn't care for the kit's railing, so I made my own. The kit is 1/35 scale, and the finished model is about 11" (28cm) tall.

Hello Joe,
being an old guy I have never seen anything about this Industria Mechanika but it sounds very
interesting and looks like it may have loads of things that would make great models...is there a web site for this stuff.....if you could direct me it would save an old guy hours of trawling on the net. I am glad that you modified the kit as that makes more original and personal a very good job I just wish I could paint anywhere near as good as you.

I love it, lovely job, well done.

I think I might get one of those to go with my Waldo when I get around to building it.

I have a Waldo as well, and got the Sky Mark as kind of an introductory build. I also have started work on a similar model of my own design. Ian McQue's artwork can give one lot's of interesting ideas.

Barrie, here's a link to Industria Mechanika:

It did for me. Having grown bored with the mainstream stuff Industria Mechanika’s Fish submersible kick started my mojo and I haven’t looked back since.

Hi guys,
yes this mechanika stuff has got my old blood moving again, I did start to enjoy the steam punk thing when I found out about it, and made a couple of off the wall models here are a few pics, not brilliant but my robot was published in sci fantasy modeling mag a few years ago.

regards Barrie ( the old guy who is going mechanika crazy soon )
