Aber M61 20mm Vulcan Cannon

I am building the Academy 1/35 M163 Vulcan Air Defence System kit and decided to upgrade it with the Aber 20mm multi-barrel cannon
It was a complete disaster!
I tried to assemble it for hours, ended up breaking several of the rings which support the barrels and then gave up
I am now using the styrene gun supplied with the kit
I have assembled Aber tank barrels before but the multi-barrels defeated me!
Has anyone experience of assembling multi-barrel guns from Aber and if so, any tips?
