So I bought a kit recently, not massively cheap by the way...

A lot of their kits are that old, they are not the only manufacturer that does it.

Had to look twice at the date...thought it said 1985...but no 1965! :shock:

I guess they have had a good mileage out of this one then but I'm sure you will do it justice...be interesting to see how it evolves. :thumb2:

at least airfix are now open about which of their kits are new tools, on their website anyway.

To be honest with you Bri, I was going to experiment on it with a mates borrowed airbrush, so it wasn't going to be for public consumption, but I'll put up some progress shots if your interested mate. Not sure I'd want to be born in '85.....

Not to worry if you want to just use the kit for experimentation...just me being curious. :)

Something to depress you even more.... :shock:

Just saw an Airfix advert in an old edition of The Aeromodeller for the Airfix Douglas Dauntless which was a Series 2 model like yours and selling for 3/6 in 1967...That is 17 1/2 pence in todays' money so Airfix have had a very good run on some of their designs.

sand all those rivets and panel lines flat and practice scribing?
