Bandai 1/72 T-65B X-wing!

Post by aur0ra145 »

Howdy all!

I just realized that the Summer SciFi build doesn't end until the end of September.

Instructions

As is usual with Bandai kits. The thing goes together so quickly and painlessly. This kit has some awesome engineering, really well thought out design.

The white is just Tamiya XF-2 White. It think it's a bit too white. Ended up brush painting the red stripe with Citadel Mephisto Red. The color match of the red looks perfect to the movies.

Then I applied a Vallejo Light Gray wash to bring out some of the details. I still want to dull out the white some more. It's just too white.

Next modelling session will be decals. After the decals get put on, I'll go to town weathering.

I'm expecting to display this on it's stand with S-Foils in attack position! So no landing gear for this dude.

There may be another SciFi thread from me in the near future... I've got a pretty big Bandai backlog.

Hey sweet, great to have you build
You cannot go wrong with a Bandai, especially an X wing

Been a bit of a bust this summer, unfortunately
I have seen numerous Star Wars builds on FB😡

I took a hiatus, it was worth it. Though, I love the summer builds.

It's looking nice! I'm going to have to pick up one of those Bandai kits.

Started to decal a bit. I must say the Citadel color match is near dead on to the decals. Don't think I'll be using the yellow decals, they looks a bit off.

The darker washes are starting to grow on me.

It looks good, just some weathering to do. Still amazed at the colour match.
