Revell 1/25 Fast and Furious 1970 Dodge Charger

Post by WordenB »

I've never watched any of the Fast and Furious films but my son is a fan so I built this one for him. A little research revealed many different Chargers were used with possibly up to 5 in the first film alone. I based this one on one that is claimed to be the "hero" car from the first film.
The body is pretty much OK apart from the wheel arch trims needing to be removed, the interior is a different matter. Thankfully the left hand side of the dash was correct for the car I was doing but that's about all. I made new door cards, parcel shelf and part of the dash from litho plate and a roll cage from styrene rod. Some new guages and switches and a few additional bits on the engine hopefully made it look a little more like the film car. I must admit I struggled a bit with this one but learnt a lot on the way (especially about Fast and Furious).

Thank you very much for your kind comments. I really think this would have gone back in the box at an early stage had it not been for my son. I have now been instructed to make a display case for it to go in!
