WANTED: Spare parts for FROG Spitfire.

I recently got a hold on to a 1/72 FROG Spitfire Mk.1a or Mk.5a (kit No. F220F) which dates back to the late 1960´s; unfortunately, it is missing some parts .
The missing parts are: tailwheel, one exhaust, canopy, antena and decals.
Do let me know if you or someone you know happen to have spare or surplus parts for this particular kit.

From the 60's !! wow ! curious to see how it looks and how it goes together

I would hop onto ebay and look for 1/72 Spitfire parts..a quick peek shows a number of canopies for not too much $
Exhaust and decal sets are pretty common as well
A tail wheel can be made from sprue if you can, antennae as well

No worries, there is quite a lot.
Those old kits didn't have much in the way of extra decals, multiple livery options or alternate cockpits; so not many spares floating about
But the aftermarket groups will get you sorted

Maybe I'm missing the point but you can get an Airfix Spitfire in 1/72 on Amazon for £7.

Surely that stacks up versus the costs and time of sourcing stuff from second hand merchants.

Rarely, I add to my stash old kits that are missing some parts. My stash also contains kits that become incomplete during the build (blame it on the infamous Carpet Monster). .

I like to search /find the missing parts in different places, including the WWW/Internet. I know that eventually, the kit will be complete and ready for a enjoyable build.

A lot of research is done while eaarching for the missing parts which makes the process interesting. I also get the chance to interact with many modellers in different cities/countries.

The antenna was found. It was "trapped" in one corner of the transparent plastic bag in which the kit was sent to me.

In other news, I´ve managed to secure one original FROG decal sheet for this kit . It will take a while before it arrives.

This reduces the wanted list to just three parts: the canopy, one engine exhaust and the tailwheel.
