Oddly - I had that idea for the 1/32 Hind a while back. It would certainly work for the Lancaster too - maybe a diorama base of grass, hardstanding or mix of both.

Now if you sit it in a huge block of resin and simply turn it over 1/4 turn every so often to display all surfaces that would be cool. Might need a fork lift to do it and a big cheque book OR how about making a divider wall out of resin with all the builds encased in it....yeah god I'm on fire today...

Nigel has done his first build log of the big Lanc.

One thing he said that really stood out for me was when he compared the kit engines to the beautiful Tamiya 1/32 Merlins used for the Spit, Mossie and P51. He said the kit versions are BETTER!

That would be a cool YT video. Start with a close up of the X-Wing with a couple of TIE fighters in hot pursuit in a darkened trench then sloooowly pan back, up and out to reveal the "trench" is a panel line on the wing of a WW2 machine...

I've been keeping up with Nigel's build videos. He's been coming up against a lot of seam line clean up and some minor engineering errors in how the kit is put together. Not accuracy issues, rather the intricacies of the instructions. He's still blown away by the kit which is great for all you madmen who laid down your precious coinage for one.

What made me laugh though was he often refers to the HK Models Lancaster (he has both) and how inferior it is. Apparently this has somewhat pissed off some owners of the HKM kit who don't like their prize assets being criticized! Its a direct comparison, why would you not compare them?

Its a strange world, there's a real hunger out there for being offended me thinks

This thread has drifted well away from being one about the legal issues involved with this kit, to build comments and comparisons.

Where would the average home be able to take this monster? Unless buyers get their models into a display case immediately when built I can see a lot of domestic disharmony when prop blades or gun barrels get knocked off and the thing attracts a layer of dust.

Someone griped about the price. What do they expect with a kit this size?

Once many realise what space it will take up when built, I can see a lot of these appearing on eBay before long. Also, I can imagine a lot of discounting by retailers once the initial flush of sales has been made to those who must have it straight away just to get stock off their hands.

The legal issues appear to be resolved as the kits are shipping. So a natural progression is to build comments & comparisons.

Maybe it would be beneficial, if possible, if Admins could split the thread into two - the original legal issues and something like a "Reviews" one??
