HMS Victory 1/100

Post by Džar »

after two years, the Victory ship from Heller is completed in 1/100 scale. I have pulleys and accessories from the company "His Model". Sails made at home, I used paints from the Tamiya company - acrylic, "Umton" oils, polishable "Agama" paints and "Tamiya" pigments.
When I have the opportunity and more time, I will take better photos and create photos of my entire fleet.

That, sir, is most definitely a Victory! Amazing work. I can only imagine the satisfaction it must have given you to achieve such a result.

Very nice work. I have this ship still to build and can only hope it looks half as good as yours when finished. You have done an amazing job and I look forward in seeing the rest of your collection.

This is cracking build of a lovely kit!! Well done!! :cheers2:

I built this years ago - it was left at my parents house with the ratlines on and all masts just needing the yards and running rigging. Life as usual got in the way and it stayed there many years till my Dad died in 2007. I told my sister I would collect my model the day after the funeral as she took it on herself to arrange house clearing.
I leave to the collective imaginations my reaction on returning to the house after the funeral to find her husbands family had gone in already and all my models had - literally - been thrown into a corner and smashed. Even worse - Dad was Para and the entire in-law family were staunch IRA supporters - and the husbands brother was about to throw all dads kit on a bonfire.
To say I was angry already was an understatement and when I saw the bonfire the wife says I went beserk. The brother had to be taken to A&E - the in-laws tried getting me charged but the police refused.
Apologies for veering off topic but it brought back sad memories

The Heller kit is a beautiful one - I had no issues in the build I did. Only comment I can make is the platic vac-formed sails supplied with the kit really aren't the "thing" if you get me. I was going to make fabric ones using the vac-formed ones as patterns. Same with the flags supplied.
