Hey digger, I've been watching this thread, but don't have anything to post. I'm waiting for the arrival of several models. One is a Fujimi F1 kit of the Brabham fan car.

I think some of you must have affected me because the other three are all military / armor kits. More on all of it once I have them home and can post photos.

I'll look forward to seeing them when they arrive. I've reduced my purchases lately so you could say I've reduced my support for this thread....
I've become a bit pickier now and try to buy upgrades for mu existing stash rather than buy new. Not saying I don't stray from the path occasionally, but I'm trying.....Blame SCOTTY and his new years resolution....
I'm really liking this flood of 3d printed parts that's hitting the market place now. I haven't bought much as yet, but I think I'm going to crack and buy some 50 and 30 cal mgs. I haven't researched the sellers as yet, because if I do I always press the buy now button... :(

Ya, really.

For the airplane guys needing some nose weight or anyone wanting some weight to a model for feel
These are little self sticking lead weights for golf clubs, 3g each. $10 Cad for eight on Amazon
Image

You could cut them and apply them in portions as needed for fit
The stickiness is strong as they stay on the surface of a golf club iron being swung and contacting a ball

The red round things are insertable putter weights for the base of my putter…20g each
Comes as a kit witha special wrench
Image
I have used the same lead weights, trimmed to shape, as harness belts.

Just arrived this morning this 3 axles german truck :

Image

I wanted to build a big WW2 truck, this one has "modern" design at its time so that's the best choice (and the price was very interesting too!).

Howdy folks!

Good to finally be back home, work has me going all over these days.

The other day, the wife and I visited the local model store, and behold. They had a kit I've been hunting for ages. Very excited to do this one. As the last one of these I built was the orange trainer version with landing gear. Which came to an early demise as my room mates dog ate the model.

Image

The old kit that I finished.

Image

The aftermath, thankfully she didn't swallow anything and didn't have any complications.

Actually not something I got from the postman or the hobby shop but late birthday gifts (more then a month late with the busy schedule of everyone in the family !)

ImageIMG_0197 by Francis Pare, sur Flickr

2 things I wanted for a while as I hear the tamiya kit is excellent and haven't made a ton of modern plane yet. And the book, well I'm a big fan since I saw the movie as kid ! I have the 1/72 Revell kit of it in my stash with tons of extras. SO it should help building it when time comes to it.

This is not terribly impressive. LOL Got the Monogram B-1B for a great price. Because the box was trashed and the decals as well. BUT, I purchased a set of the camo B-1 decals from Cartograph when they came out. So I was looking for a deal like this.

told the seller just throw the parts and directions in the smallest box you can mange. This will be like my B-58. Get the kit cheap then spend 100.00+ on after market. LOL

I think it is time for me to add to this string.

First update is not a model but something I am excited to share, a 1968 Pontiac Firebird Formula 400 convertible in 1/18 die-cast by ACME. With numerous impressive up scale details like both soft tops (up and down); nice door treatment (handles, door jams, door interior panels); opening trunk with detailed spare; floor mats with Pontiac logo's; Cloth seatbelts with PE buckles; detailed and readable hood tachometer; quality head and tail lights without ugly center posts; full under the hood details like plumbed brake booster, radiator hoses, plug wires, wired battery, plumbed window washer, fender bracing and detailed hood latch; underside fully detailed to include brake and fuel lines, etc.

      Image

Now it's model time, starting with these new additions. And I can't believe it either, armor or military ground vehicles:

I've seen a build string on this one which was done very well and sparked my interest in building one myself:

      Image

Believe it or not, over 50 years of modeling and I've never built a Sherman tank, got one now; even if it's an IDF Super Sherman. I may have to get metal individual links (?):

      Image

To assist in my 1/32 Arado Ar 196 build I also purchase these items:

      Image

      Image

Wonderful machined brass machine gun barrels:

      Image

More in route and will post an update on their arrival.

      Got some eBay treasure today
First up is a Tamiya dirt bike motorcycle. Not too pricey and will be a great build with re-laced metal spokes on the wheels

      Image

      Image

Next is a little Dremel Alkaline drill. Got this cheap as it was a golf club cleaner…similar to my orange ‘pumpkin carver’ shown
These are great little drills for modelling

A nifty little drill and I like the cordless aspect of it. Corded ones tend to knock stuff over. You may have to purchase a collet set for it though.

Don't you have some dental drills that could do the same thing? Undoubtedly the office manager wouldn't mind you taking up an appointment slot to keep your clubs in good shape.

      Nice pick ups.
I won't ask whats lurking in the far recesses of the grey matter. Not many parts in the kit, so shouldn't take long. Something to do on boxing day... :D
I couldn't help but think the artist did a great job depicting a helicopter for the box art, yet the back ground sucks. Looks like a cut and paste from a old PC game.

I have gotten a couple few in the last week, but this one was today and I actually took a pic. LOL The coffee came as well, and is absolutely 100% a needed modelling tool. :D

        Image

So now, once I build all the ones I have, I will have the Navy toilet bowl bomber, the VNAF in Navy colors (those two are done), a Sandy, a Korean war era AD5, The USAF A-1E trainer.

Today brought the first and the last:
        Image

The first - of the RAF's heavy bombers, the Handley Page 0/400.

The last - both of the RAF's heavies for my collection and, for the time being, of kit purchases. The stash is growing too big now.
          Neil (yet another one...)

          On the board now:
