Airfix 1/72 Gift Sets

Seems quite a while ago now but last Christmas I received several Airfix gift sets as presents. These were available in the UK from the German based supermarkets for £6.99 and included paint, glue and a half decent brush. I must admit to substituting the sundries with laquer paint, Tamiya extra thin and an airbrush but here are the first of the models I have finished. All of the kits are reasonably recent tooling, 2010 being the oldest, and come with a limited amount of Cartograf decals. I have to say that I have really enjoyed this return to the scale where I began modelling a very long time ago.

Spitfire Mk. 1a, did this wheels up as I though I might make a display stand for the workbench.

Mitsubishi A6M2b Zero, as the scheme is rather bland I attacked this one with a rivet wheel.







Sherman Firefly. I know it shouldn't really have the forward machine gun but I liked it.
