Post by RangerNeil »

Any one else enthused by the latest Airfix announcement of a brand new tooled Westland Sea King in 1/48 scale. Apparently comes with 4 sets of marking, 3 x RN and 1 x Civilian operator.
Went straight onto my Want list - saving pennys right now thpugh for the 1/48 Fairey Gannet due Autumn time. :)

I've been thinking I need a another Stukka ( Border 1/35) and I can't wait for Thunder Models to release their BR 80 in styrene. Might be a long wait though it's been on the drawing board for a couple of years now.

Classic British company releases classic British subject.

Its ironic because I was searching this week for a decent MH-53 Pave Low kit and now Airfix have a new tool Sea King out. Close but no cigar for me.

Good luck to all who build her. She looks a beaut. :th:
Its been tried and tested, it works! So don't blame the system if you're no good.

This looks like a great subject with some appealing colour schemes, I just hope Airfix's quality control hits the standard of its better kits, and that the important details are well captured in scale. I must admit, this one may tempt me back to Airfix after decades. Fingers crossed!

For those that are interested there's a build review in this month's Airfix Model World.

I've not had chance to read the whole article, but in the summary it seems to have a positive review with only one minor fit issue mentioned.
    Cheers, Neil
