What are you going to do?

Post by Lee »

I'm completely undecided what I'm going to do...!!!

I've got 4 figures, but really can't make up my mind which one to choose.....

I've got (all 70mm - 1/24 scale) Judge Dredd, Rogue Trooper, Slaine MacRoth and Mean Machine Angel..... :D

What are you guys going to enter?
Where does all the bloody time go.....?

Random question. Does gundam count as a figure in the guidelines of this GB?

I'm going to say no on Gundam - It's definitely more of a model in the classic sense than a figure, which is usually glue together arms and legs and spend the time painting it - if you know what I mean....lol...

Sure do, just getting some clarification so I can whittle my choices down.
And by that criteria things like the moebius/dragon avengers kits would also be out? as they are as much about assembly as paint.

6 months runtime for this groupbuild is very long, in this time i might enter 4 figures or something like that :) Well, i´m not sure how many i can count in the end, i will start with this bad boy and then i will see where it takes me.
My choice would be the Bavarian black cuirassier "Graf von Pappenheim" regiment during the 30 Years War from Pegaso Models in 54mm scale. Not much flesh to paint but the heraldry on the flag will be a pain for sure!

Image

A couple of their cuirasses are displayed in the Bavarian Army Museum in Ingolstadt, i took a close look at them. Their black cuirasses look so badass :pistols:

However i think this thing does not really qualify for a non military figure group build as those fellows were in an organised unit. Hmm i think in the course of the next 6 months i will find something suiting :)

I went for the Gladiator anyway :) But at some point i will paint Elrond aswell, i made Boromir a while ago and i liked it a lot so Elrond as my second favourite character from the LOTR saga will be painted one day aswell.

Ok so found two possible figures for myself.

Massive fan of both, but I am swaying towards Harry :th:

So either Dirty Harry.

Or Indiana jones

Well I've watched all of Harry's flicks... cause so old I fart dust.
I've also watched Indie's movies probably 10 times each.

I'd pick Harry though.... Mean fatherless person that he is.
It's an awesome figure too. The face is really well done.

Big fan of clint Eastwood and the Dirty Harry films (hence my signature quote)

Again big fan of Harrison ford and Indiana jones.

I think I'll do both starting with Harry :th:

Because of how much I'm liking building Mr. Campbell I thought that I'd do a second entry if I have time.
I wanted to do something that was just plain fun and not extrememly difficult, but was of something that I've always liked.
I've been a fan of this since I first saw it in the 80's and I watch it at least twice a year just for shits and giggles.

So I've order this....

CONAN
Image

Cymmerian Warrior, VII cen. B.C. 75mm

Should be here in about two or three weeks.
I doubt that I'll be finished Mr. Campbell by then, but it's a six month GB time... I have.
