MiG 25 Hasegawa 1/72 Completed

And here we go with another not my normal kinda build. Its a 72 fighter and its Russian.

This one is gonna be a speed build. Getting it done for the Dec 6 IPMS club meeting. Ive mentioned before, we do a build the same subject contest. This years AC are the Lancaster and the MiG 25. Neither am I a huge fan of, but a 25 in 72 shouldnt be too difficult to complete and do so in a quality manner.

Got the kit today and its mostly built already. Its very very basic. Molds are from 78, so fit isnt exactly stellar, but its not horrid either. Did a bit of putty and some sanding then a quick spray of white primer to see whats what. I got most everything on the first go around, so thats good.

Of course it will be Viktor Belenko's plane. And I did not realize until this evening, he passed in Sep at age 76.

Making progress. The fit is worse than I initially thought. I may try to do the tarps over it thing. We shall see.
Oh, and crappy "intakes and exhausts". No fans or anything like that.

OK, so I got it done by Wed.

There is one pic of it completed before I "tarped" it. I didnt have time to do a full dio though. That may happen later. Do a better job with the ropes and such.

Notes on the kit. Do NOT waste your money on this thing. Get one of the others out there. The shape around the exhausts is wrong. The detail is completely non existent. Essentially, this is JUST that basic overall shape of the plane. And fit ended up being a lot worse than I first though. It really is only good for doing this particular plane with the tarps on it.
