Compressor recommendations UK

My wife has decided that she would like to use my airbrush in her art studio, but unfortunately I always run it from my 200l work shop compressor. So I’d like to get her a small unit that’s not too noisy or expensive. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated..

I got mine from Amazon for under £100 - its a Feng-da and has served well for over 3 years now.

I like Sparmax compressors, though they are a bit spendy.

I have a Hitachi (Metabo) air compressor and it runs well and quiet (compared to other compressors I have owned). I couldn't find it available on Amazon.

Can you not run a pipe to your wife's area with a 200l tank it could serve both of you and laying in some pipe would be way cheaper than buying a complete new compressor.

I like Sparmax compressors, though they are a bit spendy.

Same here - I've had a Sparmax 610 for a few years which I love.

If you don't want to fork out for a new one I guess you might be able to find something 2nd hand or refurbed?

I got a cheap one off Amazon and it's lasted 7+ years at this point.

Thanks guys. I’ve got a local model shop that opened last year although I’m in there almost every week, I hadn’t realized that they kept a range of compressors. When I mentioned that I was after something quite he turned on an Albion Alloys and I was amazed at how quite it was. You can barely hear that it is running! Credit where due. Andy at scale model shed https://scalemodelshed.co.uk/ really does know his stuff. It was a little more than an eBay special but it seems to be fantastic quality.

Thanks. I hadn’t thought of that. It could be possible but the distance is about 30 metres so fixing in a permanent pipe would probably cost about the same as buying a small compressor..

Not really if you did the work yourself and plastic air hose is cheap ..$50. All up cost would be around 100aud, but if you have to dig trenches, pull up pathways drill holes in walls, patching and the like a new compressor is a lot easier.
