Boeing 377 1/144 Minicraft Completed

Post by smokeriderdon »

OK. This is probably my favorite civilian airliner that was also a military cargo plane and so much more. This was the last of the true prop luxury airliners. It was also a pretty damn good cargo plane. Doing the PAA plane shown.

This is a simple kit. The windshield fit is crap. I have to decide how much effort I want to put into it. We shall see. The aluminum is on. Using Alclad. Will fiddle with the windshield fit then spray som more. Didnt go far enough up with this first coat.

Thank you sir. The C-97 is the military cargo plane version. Its also the base for the Super Guppy.

So, I decided one more coat of white. Used a rattle can so it stayed glossy. And I managed to splooge around the masking. *sigh* Easy enough fix, but a pain the arse because I had t dirty up the air brush and clean it just for that spot.

Looking good!! :cheers2:

I'm also resorting to rattle cans for the large amount of gloss white on the big Mil. But knowing me the white is going on first!!

Thank you sir. The problem with the rattle cans is the nozzles getting gunked up. ESPECIALLY gloss white and black. The only time they spray right is the first time I use them. Then even after soaking the nozzle in thinner and what not, it still wont spray right. But I manage. LOL

Im usually not an airliner guy. This is actually my first go at one. But I love this plane, so I figured Id give it a whirl. I have another of these with different markings. Cant remember offhand which airline.

So all done. Windscreen area looks blech. Just too small for masking with tape or fluid and I dont have a brush fine enough. But it will do.

I put weight in the nose, but clearly not enough.
