Update: I have a shipping notification as of today, Wednesday 14th Feb
Delivery is middle of April
Holding my breath.
I think it is a scam that makes me pay and he waits until the eBay period for any complaints, returns or reimbursements runs out

Decals look a bit iffy and it is definitely an old kit stored in a damp area…but it is rare and fine

Those figures look really nice. If I were to get any, I'd paint them up like a bronze statue/memorial you see outside of museums.

That would be a cool diorama with the aircraft in the back and the figures as bronze war heroes

I've only seen it that mustang kit once before when my older brother built it around 1974 or so, and then it had the Mickey Thompson decals and box top.

It was a biplane flying in ww2 and it has those hot rod mufflers...what's not to like


I was listening to a Aussie podcast and Julian was rabbiting on about how good these CA holders are. Seeing as I fling CA around like dog doo doo's it seemed like a good idea, but on receiving it and seeing how small everything is ( English 10p and USA dime ) I will have to be careful with the application tool and be careful about how much to put on the little silver cylinders. Too much and it will run down the sides and cement it into the red holder. I hate these real close up pic's and nothing to compare it too or any sizing include in the description. I also thought the top would be slightly dished...flat as.

Following the individual updates has me smiling. Rarely do you see or hear of anyone in the USA jumping over to another country and back on a weekend. This site being international its refreshing to see the passport use of fellow members like its a regular thing (good on ya). I remember when living in Germany for 3+ years that I too visited numerous countries over weekends when possible. Even back then I would try to find the model shops along the way to check out. In contrast to international travel, here (in the USA) you can drive all weekend and just make it from one end of Texas or California to the other. I suppose we just have to love this world as we know it (smile).

Hey digger, I agree that they are very small flat surfaces. Please let us know what you think after using it a while. For me, I use the discarded tops off of prescription medication containers to hold my glue while using applicators to apply. Perhaps its because I try and repurpose used stuff when possible (meaning cheap). Still curious as to what you think if it.

This is the next stage for me in wooden ship building, still a kit and all precut but you have to do some woodworking for her.

Wood stock planks and dowels


Later cut wood for keel and the bulkhead segments

Now why from Amazon?? Well I won a door prize at my work study club for a $400 Amazon voucher.
Then I chose not to go see Adam Savage at Van comic Con that would have cost me another $200.
So if I use female math skill, I actually saved money buying this
Plus buying an artificial grass sweeper and fluffer wasn’t quite as sexy to me as a model kit…that was choice #2 on my Amazon list.

Super organized and complete kit from a really nice man somewhat local and for an amazing price
Pretty happy about this one.

I've been using the tops off milk cartons as they have a little dimple in the top. However I thought I'd give this a try.
It does work Ok, but a couple of draw backs. Cleaning the little cylinders the Ca sits on isn't easy as they are only a 5/16 of a inch or 7.5mm long so trying to hold them while burning the Ca off is problematic and the Ca doesn't ignite that quick either. Must be some heat transference going on. Be better if they were longer or had a spike underneath for holding. The second thing isn't as bad as the little tool applicators they supply are very good except a bit tiny in length. Grip between two finger is the go, but they are usable. Cleaning is harder than throwing away plastic bottle tops. I was getting tools glued to it or my hand which is why I am trying this option being elevated off the desk by 30mm.

Do you know if the masts are tapered for you or is that down to the builder ?

I am not sure. I think you have to taper them as they have 1:1 plan of the parts and I seem to remember they had just a full dowel.
Tapering isn’t a big deal, either lathe or by hand, it isn’t much

Depends on the size. Victoriana coinage included a silver Thruppeny bit, Sixpence, Shilling, Two Shilling and Half a Crown (2s 6d).

A couple of items.
M18 tracks and a scribing tool. Not that I needed another one , but the handle looked far more controlable than the small pencil like ones I had and I just hoped the other scribing tips would fit it. Which they do......not a exact tight fit but they clamp up Ok and not expensive at 13.50 and with 7 tips.

I'm interested to hear how the paint revitalizer works.

I've added it to my worst bottles of black Lifecolour paint and the gluggy blobs have disappeared. I have yet to actually apply the paint , but I'm feeling confident that it will be like new.
A half full bottle I added 3 drops, mixed and left it for a week and it looks fine. I did the same for several other shaders of Black varying the amount. A full bottle with a small amount of gluggy paint....4 drops and a full bottle with no glugy sludge 3 drops. They don't really give you proper chart for how much to add because it depends on to many factors. However if you apply too much the paint is toast. So start with small dosage and work up.....It's a dark art I say
