The Bofors truck is a little quirky, not so polished as something out of a factory these days. So what's not to like

I received this horrible looking box today



But inside it had these rather nice Tiger tracks and brass pins with the ends pressed into a bolt like outline.
These are much better than the previous set of tracks I bought and they weren't that bad except the track guides
had a lot of flashing over the lightening hole. None of that here.

Got my eye on one of those too - be interested to hear your feedback on it Digger.

Sure when I start a new kit atm I have 3 to finish and all at late construction or painting phase.

I'm interested too on the performance of that piece.

I gave it a whirl last night and I can say yes it works. I did take some pic's last night, but today they are a complete mystery and are not to be found.
1. It is controllable and you can sand very close to a edge without incident.
2. 6 grades of paper included that is top quality and because of this it is durable, cleanable and makes the work of the device easier.
3. No pressure is required to actually sand the plastic away with soft styrene.
4. It is ok to hold, but would be better if it had that soft plastic grips that are on most things today.
5. It is quick to charge at around 20min, but also means the battery lasts about the same. While I didn't discharge it completely and the indicator was still green after maybe 8 min there did seem to be a lessening of the power available. My sanding was finished by then and I didn't proceed any further. Oh and I only had it on the slow speed.
6 The protective cover is damn tight. I removed some material on the inside of it to make life easier.

Conclusion or the question would I buy again.
Probably I would because I bought this to get into tight spots where I could save some time and my fat finger wouldn't fit. I hope I will be able to change the battery out once this one dies. The casing appears to be glued together.

The willpower broke again

Always liked the look of these even though I prefer armour ever since the Bond film "foxbat" was released.


This wasn't on the want list until I saw it and after buying a couple of the other Border kits in 1/35....Tanker wasn't on the wants list either


A deuce is always good to have as the possibilities are endless however the tanker ( Allies and Pacific) arrived with only half a set of rear wheels. Now it's a issue of how to get another 2 sprues and as Hobbyboss parts replacement I hear is non existant unless going through the retail store it was bought from. Suspicious lot and as I bought it second hand it has become a bit of a lucky dip whether I can get this resolved.

I've only used two so far - Nakajima Deep Green Black and the Hai-Iro Grey. Being lacquer, not acrylic, they are definitely airbrush only. It dries too quick for the brush. Excellent colour match and coverage though. I think they are pretty good.

Welp, I've been away for awhile (again ) and hopefully am now back for a time. Had a strange 2023 (and early '24) - most of it anyway.
Work has been since one of the two users (I'm the other 'one') of the software we use at work left early in 2023 - and they still haven't replaced him almost 18 months later. . . Good news, got a raise (or I was leaving... ). And I've now been able to not be just shot at the end of the day or the weekend... I've started back getting to the bench, literally, as in Tuesday. Things are looking up.

Any-hoo, I did get a delivery from Hiroboy on Monday:



Have like 6 1990's 1/20 McLarens to do, but have two MP 4/5's - and since I gots the correct decals, went ahead and splurged and got the correct "red".

I was pretty happy until on closer examination this wasn't quite up to whats advertised. The cutting arm is quite sloppy with any side pressure is applied. It seems the hinge pin is too small for the hole they drilled by about .2mm resulting in a lot of side movement.



I was able to remove a lot of it by cutting a slice of 0.1mm copper sheet wrapping it around the thread then inserting it into the hole and persuading the pin into said hole. This removed almost all the slop and it is reasonably firm now with only the smallest of variation able to be induced.....Now I'm happy again

On the one target I have done, my D9R dozer, I got the Friuhl tracks and LOVED them. I bought a set for the Mk IV I have in the stash. Will likely get them for any armor I do.

And this came in the mail today. Came with the set of decals from one of the IPMS nationals. The kit itself has an awesome sheet. So between those two sets, and the Caracal set I have, I can do at least 3 of them in 1/72. I DO have two others in 72. I mean, Ive built 2, I had 6 in the stash and now this makes 7. But hey, still not as many as I have of F-4s and 15s.

Been a bit quiet on the build front of late, medical stuff aside, I had the nozzle shear off the airbrush again. I suspect using the reamer to get paint residue out also removes a little of the material every time until the slightest pressure on the threads results in it snapping.
So - in the best possible British Army traditions I went for overkill. I didn't know if they used a common thread or not so I bought a pack of 5 x 0.3 nozzles from Amazon. And on the chance they wouldn't fit - I got a 3rd complete airbrush. Only a cheapie (£21) as I want to try one of Ultimate's Apex models when they get any back in stock.


Also got a bottle of IPA to clean things with - I figured a spray on, wipe off solution might be better than a dunk bath.

Anyways - turns out the new nozzles fit perfectly.

I prefer to build these in 1/32, but I thought I should try to revise that personal rule and see if I can handle 1/48....god knows I struggle with 1/32 so why not.

Picked up this box. It was technically used as it was on the resale rack. Green dot means it was 25% off, then I had about $30 in gift cards/store credit. All said and done for about $100. Which is awesome, because this can be built up as a British or Canadian Army. Also comes with a Churchill and Universal Carrier. I'm really digging how cost effective Bolt Action is when compared to Warhammer 40k.
