Special delivery today!! I was luck with these - I'd asked when they were going to be re-issued and Combat Kits said they were going to be on sale at Telford, they expected to probably sell out.. I couldn't make Telford as I was on parade at the Cenotaph that weekend - so as a "thank you" for my service they set one of each aside for me!!. Thats what I call excellent customer service. :D

Shorts Belfast C1 - I will probably do this one as "Encephalus" - preserved at the RAF museum, Cosford
      Image

Blackburn Beverley C1 - Kit supplies markings for XB259 when it was at the Royal Aircraft Establishment, Farnborough. I'll probably finish it in the Light Stone/Dark Earth finish as she is now at Solway Aviation Museum

Managed to score this direct from China as this kit is so hard to find now and I now believe the Chinese sources have started to run dry too with only a couple of sources left.

Still no ebay or auction delivery possible, so went to local hobby shop trip and got this kit and some bobs

Not surprised as the Russians don't tend to update equipment as often as in the west. There is gear being made there that has had no real change in decades. Just as well they have so much oil, mind you at the rate the Ukrainians have been burning them it won't help...

I know someone who owns one of those Maz tractors here in the UK. To say it has a fetish for filling stations would be an understatement!! 🤣🤣
Not surprised as the Russians don't tend to update equipment as often as in the west. There is gear being made there that has had no real change in decades. Just as well they have so much oil, mind you at the rate the Ukrainians have been burning them it won't help...

            :cheers2:
Russian philosophy has always seemed to be "If it ain't broke - don't fix it". 🤣🤣

Got a gift card to the hobby store and picked up a 1/48 Tiger. Additionally my hobby store is now stocking AK Interactives line of acrylics, enamals, washes, etc, so I'm looking forward to finally giving them a try.

Something I would like, but wouldn't buy for myself while I can get cheap ones  Wrong idea I know, but I abuse them too much.

Not much from me (as normal), except the following:

1/48 nightmare of photo etch, also known as a F6F-5 Hellcat by Jasmin Models:

                    Image

Some fun and off the wall in 1/24, a Don "the snake" Prudhomme rear engine dragster for my birthday (12-29-59):

                    Image

And I also adopted a 1:1 scale M1897A5 75mm howitzer on a M2A2 gun carriage. It is currently sitting in front of our cities municipal building. It is a ceremonial "non firing" display piece. I am going to restore it in the spring for the city, wish me luck!

After seeing what a Bradley can do to a T-72 or was it a 80. I'm not sure now, but I got interested in them and this one just happened to pop up almost next door.

Some gift cards yielded me the chance to try an experiment to make a speed paint. We'll see if the glaze works out or not.

Bought some travel cases for brushes and paints. I think they'll work out well. Just need to find a way to transport minis without spending an arm and a leg.

I proudly present to you for your viewing pleasure the first ever styrene kit of a 1/35 passenger rail car.

                      Image

It's a heavy box with just enough rail line provided to base it on. It has a compliment of metal tubing cut to size, a paper mask to help with locating and painting the internals, the usual compliment of PE and the instructions drawings just seem weird. Maybe I just need to adjust.

                      :D :D

Yeah I was in shock at the price too as I had pre-ordered 2 and was forced to change that. Got my eye on a Br-80 locomotive when it launches and currently saving up for that as it's going to be close to 200aud I suspect.

Decided to see if there were any reviews for this kit and was pleasantly surprised to see not only a review , but it compared this kit to the older Tasca/Asuka kit. Now these used to be the best Sherman’s OTB builds to be found not any more it seems as this reviewer Al Bowie say's.

"In summary, this is an excellent kit that takes all the little things missing from the TASCA VC and adds them to give a very complete product. I did note the fit which, while it is very good, is not the precision fit of the TASCA kit if that bothers you.

I would highly recommend this as the best Firefly currently available in any scale and I hope that RFM offer M4A4/Sherman V variants and an interior variant as a follow on.

Well done RFM on a superb offering."

                              Nice!!!
I want to build a relica of the car I most regret selling - NLR 87 V - a Black '79 with a maroon interior and manual box. Theres a chap over in the 1/8 build group.on FB who does a whole bunch of 3D print super-detailing parts, waiting to hear what he has for the Trans Am. :)
