1/8 Ferrari F40 - Panini kit

Hi all. I finished a semi built 1/8 die cast F40 - one of those kits that comes in 100 little magazines - one each month kinda deal.

I added a lot of engine detail to get it away from the oob toy like look it had.

Its a massive model, very impressive to look at, a nightmare to build / assemble. Im sticking to 1/12 cars for the smaller scale...

Yes, they call it the Competition version - Competizione - a fair bit of tuning to the stock F40 to make it race ready. As if it needed it.
Model also has lights and engine noises...

Its probably very similar. I added lots of extra detail, especially to the engine, as the kit oob looked like a toy. The disc brakes are add ons for a pocher kit. In my mind this kit was very toy like, and thats why the owner gave it to me, to make it more realistic. The Pocher one is probably better.

Thats a good idea of refurbishing someone elses model. They are big heavy attention grabbers , arent they.

I have a couple of the older classic POCHER kits but would love to get my mitts on the Porsche 911,
either full kit or one to refurbish.
I kinda have too many things to build at the moment so probably should just focus on building and not buying

I've always steered clear of those multi-part/monthly buy builds as a couple of friends who started them found the producers stopped the monthly buys halfway through as sales never met predicted figures so my friends were given an either/or choice - either live with a half finished build or fork out a few hundred £££'s for the parts to finish it.

Yes, thats an issue. Also got to wait a month for each set of parts, talk about a test of patience.
This one was bought as a complete set after someone collected all the pieces, so a bit easier.

G’Day

I have collected the complete series of issues from 1 to 100 for the ‘1/8 Ferrari F40 Competizione’ and look forward to building it. However, in recently moving house I have lost the magazines which were kept separately to the parts received and now I have no way of figuring out how to build it.

I am aware that there are video tutorials however these are rather cumbersome to try to follow while building the model. Would you have an electronic copy of the magazines that you could send me or if not a set of hard copy magazines that I could perhaps purchase? I am based in Melbourne, Australia, and I am worried that the hard copies would be expensive to ship to Australia due to their likely weight.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

These are extremely expensive kits, each magazine costing upwards of what £10. Think it works out £1500 per kit for what is really an assembly

Then there's the size of them

Forever one of top Ferrari's. As been said, many of the photos could be considered photos of the real car.

I think the three easiest ways to tell it is the competition version are the hood, the front lights, and the rear spoiler.
