Zvezda 1/35 T34-85 w/winter camo

Post by Nikola »

Hi guys,

This is my work in progress on Zvezda's T34-85 with temporary winter camo.
It is my first airbrush model and first weathered tank model where I tried all the weathering techniques known to man. :) Half of the time I wasn't quite sure what I was doing, but it was so much fun!

The next step is to assemble and install metal workable tracks, when I somehow manage to find a 0.5mm drill bit. :)

Suggestions and comments are more than welcome, because I really want to learn and improve, so be honest and don't go easy on me.

Thanks in advance,
Nikola

what can I say? your t-34 simply looks fantastic :) congratulations!
especially the top of the turret with it's mostly washed away winter camo makes the model an eye catcher.

I'm quite a sucker for Soviet Armor, love how she looks so far bud.

Great work on the winter white wash!

Beautiful work. Can almost hear the Soviet anthem playing as it crashes across a snow covered steppe!

Even though I returned to the hobby with this model after 20 years of hiatus, I left it unfinished without tracks. As the kit is old, the kit tracks had to be replaced with something better.

So, after almost six years of building only aircraft (my main modelling subject) I finally gathered the will to assemble the Fruilmodel metal tracks and bring this one close to the end.

Actually, it wasn't as tedious of a work as I have thought.

Next is filing/sanding of excess connector pins and then the burnishing fluid...

The peeling and weathering of the whitewash looks good and I love the way you built up the wet mud at both ends of the tracks.
