I found a great resin kit company this weekend. I was browsing YouTube and ran across a video review of a Lexus LC500 kit! I had no idea this beautiful car had a kit.



I looked into the company and found they have many gorgeous kits. I joined their Facebook group and sent off a message to the owner. He responded quickly.

Cast resin is practically impervious to solvents. You can bond parts together with CA and use the de-bonder with no risk. You can soak parts in straight acetone to strip paint if needed. Hot lacquer paints are also not an issue. In many ways, resin is a superior medium compared to styrene.

Note: I should have mentioned that most resins are impervious to solvents. I should not have made a complete blanket statement. I have personally soaked some bonded cast-resin parts in acetone to start over, with no ill effects. It is possible that some resins may not like that.
