New Kit Releases and Wish Lists

Post by Stokesy44 »

Good morning All

A hearty welcome to the weekend. Its 7am here in Old Blighty, the coffee is on and I am presenting a new idea for an ongoing all contribution thread. I am starting a new post to show new kit releases and reviews along with promoting chat about stash contents and wish lists. Anyone can post details of new kits provided you link to some form of media, be it videos or photos.

The idea is to get excited about what's coming down the pipe and do please post more esoteric stuff to ensure we capture and inform the gang of the breadth of what's out there.

New Kit announcements. Anything you come across on Social Media or from manufacturers and retailers. Post links on here and comment on the content. An example could be as follows:

This comes out once a month from an enthusiast on You Tube.

New kit reviews - from reputable sources - no hatchet jobs please :bash:

Border's new He 111 in 1/35 scale, video from Andy's Hobby HQ

Stashes and wish lists. What you've got and why. Kits you would kill for and kits you might want to move on.

There will be no schedule, if you get wind of a new kit out there and you fancy posting about it to generate some chat, just go for it.

Here is the 2026 catalogue from Airfix. Some nice new kits in there including a Ju 52 in 1/72 and a much desired rerelease of their 2019 1/24 F6 Hellcat. That one is definitely on MY list.

They've also released a 1/48 Phantom which strikes me as massively ambitious given the recent releases of the Phantom in 1/48.

So get posting and chatting and we'll see what's out there...
Its been tried and tested, it works! So don't blame the system if you're no good.

Good morning All.

Its 11am on Saturday, the sun is out and all's right with the world (that's how we Midlanders react when the sun's out, its like we're kids again!)

Another new release video from someone I follow on YT. We've got some lovely aircraft this time in 1/48, 1/32 and 1/24. Some real beauties here.

Various fighters from Arma Hobby and Miniart in 1/48. Eduard teaming up with HKM again, this time for a 1/48 B25 Mitchell strafer. Some jets in the form of a Harrier II, a Buccaneer, and an SR71 from Revell! An Airfix special duties Lysander. And the icing on the cake, a couple of beautiful cold war jets in 1/32 and a rerelease and new tool WW2 fighters in 1/24!

Go on. You know you want to. Its time to put the frighteners up the wallet
Its been tried and tested, it works! So don't blame the system if you're no good.

Right now I've got the Airfix Sarrycan on my wish list, possibly the JU-52.
    Neil (yet another one...)

    On the board now:

    Airfix 1/35 Alvis Stalwart Mk2 FV622
    Hasegawa 1/48 A8 Crusader

My wish list is long, but currently the hottest on the list is the new boxed Airfix Lysander, the older Roden 1/32 DH.2 kit and maybe the new Miniart Stuart even though I've already built the AFV KIT.
Oh and I've been chasing the Miniart Farm house building, Goods shed and work shop forever.

Yep, the Lizzie looks good and I often think about those Miniart dios. They may need a lot of work but the results can be amazing.

That's kind of the idea. I'm starting to lose track of the kits that have come out in the last year that I want. I'm just trying to make sure everyone else is in the same boat!! :th:

Nice looking kit. I dont think Airfix have ever gone in for a 1/32 aircraft. In the old days it was 1/72 for military, 1/144 for bigger military and airliners then 1/24 for the 'Super Kits', Spitfire, Hurricane, 109, Mustang, Stuka and Harrier.

Looks like Andy is releasing half tracks in 1/35 scale this time. Full interior and drive train. Each kit comes with an M3 and M3A1. So, two for the price of one. Pretty cool!

And if you like your subjects BIG, here's a full build video from Andy of Andy's HHQ in the US of the new Das Werk Rommel Half Track. I love this guy, great channel on YT and a thriving in store and online business.

I came across this new kit and decided to include it here. Not because it's cool, but because it looks so brutish ugly and unfortunately it's a resin kit so I'll be walking by this one.

Wow, that looks like a proper beast but I agree with you. Resin kit = walk on by. I wonder what causes manufacturers to go for resin as opposed to styrene injection? I don't know enough about the processes of either to have any kind of informed opinion.

What I would give for a modern made F-105 kit with new tooling. While I'm at it. Bandai is leaving money on the table to have not made a TIE Bomber model kit. WHY HAVE THEY NOT DONE THIS?!

Completely agree with you on the TIE Bomber. I'm really not impressed by Bandai's Star Wars range. Too may small kits, what a range they could have in 1/48. And how about some figures that are NOT articulated, can we have a figure that does not look like it was put together by robots in a car factory. I refuse to buy them. Rant over. :?

Agree about the F105 too. :th:

Here's some new stuff if you like your ground vehicles in smaller scales.

Its been tried and tested, it works! So don't blame the system if you're no good.

New Armor releases in 1/35 and 1/16. Keep an eye out for Tamiya's new Chaffee. Should be popular

That 1/16 Jeep looks interesting. A lot of scratch building would be needed but I think it could be converted to an SAS one quite nicely.
      Neil (yet another one...)

      On the board now:

      Airfix 1/35 Alvis Stalwart Mk2 FV622
      Hasegawa 1/48 A8 Crusader

Its a nice kit, I built the original without the trailer when it came out a couple of years back.

There's a resin conversion kit from Sol Resin for the SAS conversion if you don't want to go down scratch building route.

Oohhh - I want that Shadomobile!! Although it looks more angular than I remember the ones in the show being. Still want it though. :)

Yeah the TIE Bomber certainly grabbed my attention too - it's been on my want list forever.

I'd also be tempted with the UFO Shado Mobile; given that MPC recently brought out the 1/72 Space 1999 Eagles & Hawk I'm wondering if they've got the Anderson entertainment licence in which case we might see additional releases from UFO such as the moonbase interceptors, SID & Sky-Diver etc

I'm also hoping that they bring out the Eagle Freighter with the atomic waste cans in 1/72 since they've already released the 1/48 version.
        Cheers, Neil
