Hello from Napa Valley

Post by marcowine »

Hi everyone. I've been lurking and learning from the forum for some time now and finally decided to jump in.

I recently rekindled my interest in modeling. I used to be an avid modeler when I was a child. Now that I'm retired, I finally have the time, and thankfully still the inclination, to take it up again (plus there's the added bonus of being able to do it with adult money rather than a meager allowance). I'm really enamored with autos, especially World Rally and F1 cars. I purchased, but haven't yet started a MotoGP bike as well.

Anyway, thank you all for sharing so much of your talent and experience here. I hope I can add a bit to the whole discussion.

Cheers! :cheers2:

Hi, welcome to the forum :th:

Get stuck in with a build and post comments on what you see. We like a good meme too so dont hesitate to take the mickey when its called for!
Its been tried and tested, it works! So don't blame the system if you're no good.

Hello and :welcome: to the GSM forum.

When you get a moment please check out the forum guidelines which can be found ---> here

We'd love to see your work & progress but in order to post photos you will need to host them on an external site such as Flickr and then link to them from the forum. Unfortunately the forum currently doesn't have sufficient capacity or bandwidth to host directly uploaded photos.

There is a quick guide on how to use the Flickr integration on the forum ---> here and a couple of step by step guides in here

As well as the forum boards there is a really useful Modeller Toolkit available which can help with paint matching, paint thinning, glue types & a scale calculator that can be found ---> here

We also run occasional group builds through the year so feel free to enter any of those that you like the look of - once they're set up they can be found ---> here

Otherwise take a look around and join in, and if you have any questions feel free to ask.

Have fun!
Cheers, Neil

Welcome. I'm sure you'll approach it with a very different mindset to when you were a kid.

Marcowine,

Hi and welcome to the forray! IF you have been looking in as you say, then you will see many different interests and abilities. To me, that is what makes it such a welcome group. Hope you jump all in, feet first and enjoy it.
