Nissan Skyline R32 GTR - Tamiya 1/24

Post by cor »

Hi all. This is a nice and cheap kit from Tamiya that includes engine detail, so I gave it a shot to keep my mojo up.

I tried 2 new products, for me, on this. Tamiya clear glue for windows. Works great, with no paint mess up from cement glue. This was on the head lights, indicators, and brake lights. The windows had a big hidden panel to add cement. The clear stuff is really good for the smaller clear parts.

Also I finished the car with Tamiya Modeling Wax. This gave the paint a great shine, hiding all the swirl marks that the polishing compounds can introduce. It also works great on the clear windscreen bits, by hiding any little marks - I applied it to the inside and outside of the clear window parts.

The stripes were masked over the white undercoat. The body colour is a metallic blue with some clear purple added. The engine bay was extensively detailed.

Nice work. Decals look smart, especially the stripes on the nose, nicely done
Its been tried and tested, it works! So don't blame the system if you're no good.

There may indeed be some insanity involved, but I am without a doubt having fun.
