Hobbyboss tracks

Hi guys, been working on my first model and I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with Hobbyboss 1/48 tank tracks?

They provide assembled pieces for the horizontals but you have to create the curves yourself using individual links on a little jig - I've spent over an hour on it this morning and have not even attached one link! Is there a special technique for this? They just will not clip together, I thought about carefully trimming a wider gap although that will take weeks to do for each link and may not give even results but I can't see another way at the moment.

Any tips would be much appreciated.

I got them done in the end, after many cups of tea and much swearing.

I expected them to click (or at least fit) into each other - some were fine but most of them required some tidying up/trimming. I don't think I'll get a model with this type of track next time
