Howdy from Texas

Post by ChrisCareless »

Morning Gents & Ladies if any present

Found my way to y'all thanks to Paul B. Thanks again mate for the heads up about this lil slice of plastic heaven..

So I've been building since I was about 6 up till I was 17, enlisted an had to hang up the hobby.. got out in 2006 and hit the hobby hard an fast.
Recently I've been volunteering with wounded warriors @ the WTU on Ft.Hood and bring them the joys of modeling as a therapy as I use it, some of the guys an girls there have also built models as well and were excited to get back into it, along with a couple other local club members of my club, we've donated model kits as well as a couple company's have donated kits as well, Squadron, SprueBrothers and AK Interactive are just a couple companies that jumped on board to help with this cause, Thank you again you guys for helping also I've had a few people from my FB account help by donating as well from their personal stash's, good people and can't thank them enough.

SO as to what I build.. I do a lot of large scale figure work, 1/6th up to 1/3rd, mostly female and monster stuff, 35th scale armor, 48th/32nd aircraft and 350th ship

Currently I'm working on (Tamiya's) 32nd F-15C and a (Nude Resin) girl named Hocus Pocus - she isn't nude though lol

so yeah that's bout it..

Hiya folks.

Thank you chaps for the warm welcome, I really do appreciate that a lot !!

Pir8hnter as a former ABN Grunt, I'm all about helping out my brothers&sister now since I am not longer standing on the line in anyway I can.. modeling has been a blessing to me and has helped me keep focused on being around to keep modeling.. Sadly though I lost one of my WW' a couple weeks ago who was one of my modeling kids from the WTU where I volunteer at... he was a great modeler, I've got some of his works posted on my FB account..

anyways sorry bout the bad bit of news.. On with the glue sniffing and enjoyment..

Howdy Fogey,

glad I could put a pleased feelings across for ya Brother.. and Welcome Home and thank you.. my folks did some time over that way also.. so .. well I'm sure ya feel me... being slightly disabled myself I do as much as I can for the kids who are in the limbo phase.. and modeling has done the trick for almost a year with the troops I get to deal with.. I mean really.. I get to build models with brothers and talk shop as well as educate them on the stuff that's out there and from time to time we get donations of kits an product for them to try out .. it's a win win..

Depression is a terrible thing in any form, I've been dealing with ptsd myself for a while now. I'm not ex-military but did spend a few years getting shot at but the ptsd only came out when I was bed ridden after putting my back out, 20 years after the traumatic events. Modelling helps me but helping others helps me more. Keep up the good work!
