What is your favorite model?

Post by coladito1 »

OK, so I have a little bit of time. I was wondering about what are you guy's favorite models to build? doesn't matter what genre or what scale! :)

I'll start! it's no secret but my favorite is the Hobyboss 1/48 A-10A! it's a beautiful kit. And for the money you get great detail!

Ok now it's your turn. Remember it could be any scale and any genre (even a figure). Have fun with this and who knows?! it might get modelers interested in your favorite model!!

Not going to lie, there are soooo many kits out there that I obviously haven't built that I think its hard for me to know a favourite as I might not have found it yet!

However out of the kits I have built, I must say I was very pleased with how the new tool Airfix 1/72 P51-D kit built up and painted.

ARGH! Too many models! Brain overload! I love them all! Favourite to build is ALWAYS that one on sale that I haven't bought yet! Or which ever one I've just hung in one of my kids bedrooms.

Mine was the Italeri 1/720 USS Carl Vinson. It was my first aircraft carrier so the fact it was a simple build was great as it meant i had more time play around with the positioning of the deck aircraft and tugs. Great fun and have been hooked on aircraft carriers ever since.

My favourite model is the Sherman 1/35. That said ive only built one since getting back into modelling. I've bought about 6-8 types but not done them yet.

Going to do a ME109 in the next few weeks, but my all time favourite aircraft as to be the P51 followed by the Lancaster bomber.

My favourite model, I think it has to be Tamiya's 1/48th Spitfire. But that could all change soon as I am just about to start their 48th scale Mosquito, there are so many good kit's coming out at the moment I am just glad I started modelling again .

If someone were to look at my display of models they'd first think that I have a thing for either German WWII armour and Tiger I's or the British Firefly Sherman. I've modelled a a lot of them.
I think that my favourite was Tamiya's Matilida Mk III. or AFV's Churchill Mk IV. The entire process of construction of the both of them was just plain fun.

My favorite model kit is still - Italeri M4-A1 Sherman tank in 1:35. Great inexpensive kit, easy to build good quality even it is a very old model. I've build almost 4 of them, right now I have a fresh box one on my stash . This time I add some aftermarket set of tracks and metal barrel.

Has to be the 1:48 scale Airfix English Electric Lightnings. For fit, detail, marking options and value for money. The only drawback of the initial release were some slightly out if register decals but the re-releases are great and well catered for in aftermarket decals and parts.

Made 5 (although 3 were destroyed by net curtains about 15 years ago), made a further two last year with 4 more in the stash and next year is going to be my year of the fighter. :thumb2:

If in doubt, grab a spit... Lots of options depending on ones mood but 1/48 fav scale, got the new eduard as an overtree kit so looking forward to it, only thing by the time I buy the things it's missing might have been cheaper to buy a profile pack

i´m unable to pick a favourite, there are too many great kits out there, i often build models twice because i liked them a lot. Maybe the Panzer III series (old tool and new tool) from Dragon are the closest thing to what we can call favourite, they are all amazing and the tank kits i build very often.
