Revell 1:72 P-47D-30 Thunderbolt

Post by ScaleModelling1105 »

Loved this kit and I was very happy with the results. I didn't have any metallic acrylics at the time so I brush painted the whole kit. I have a building review on my channel if you want to check it out.

Wow! Excellent paint job mate !
I love the result :th:!

P.S.: You've painted it with a "hairy stick" - do I have this right? Wow!

Funnily enough it is a revel enamel aluminium (no.99 if your interested). I have a lot of enamel paints lying around and I decided to use it. Turned out surprisingly well and will definitely be using it again.

Cheers Paul. You know how paints work for some people but not others? Well revell enamels (atleast the ones I've tried) tend to work alright for brush painting. Despite the fact that all I ever hear about revell paints is how bad they are, which is fair enough. I guess the main problem is the same with all enamels: takes ages to dry and a pain in the backside to airbrush. They'd be better if revel re-designed those annoying tins!!! Always have to get a screwdriver and then I open it up to a crusty mess!
