This is from Wikipedia Sebastian

When Berlin was a divided city, the Berlin Wall erected in 1961 ran along this street. Bernauer Straße became famous for escapes from windows of apartment blocks in the eastern part of the city, down to the street, which was in the West. Several people died here when the border was first enforced.

I don't know if that answers your question.

Oops. You put the decals on after the wash?
If the decals sat down fine then you got away with it haha.

If they silver at all, then you can try adding a bit of your decal solution to try to snug them down better.
No matter what happens though, before you do any more washes Sebastian, you should seal those decals with a clear coat, ie future.
They won't react well to the washes if you don't protect them. :thumb1:

No problem buddy, as long as it helps.
Gloss or a semi gloss is fine. After you're done all your painting and washes and just before you're about to add your pigments, you can give it a flat coat. :cheers2:

Oh my Sebastian,
I hope that you got it off?

I use Winsor Newton oils and Turpenoid for thinner.
How long did you leave the paint before you dragged the brush over it?
It should have only been a few minutes.

Without knowing more, it sounds like either your thinner isn't strong enough, or you left the paint too long.

Normally oil paints don't start drying for hours and hours, I don't know why yours dried so fast Sebastian.
When I do dot filters or mapping its on a gloss coat, and I do one section at a time (that way I don't forget any dots).
Turpenoid is an odourless thinner just like any other (though too expensive in my opinion), but you can do this with mineral spirits (white spirits) as well.
If you did it on a matte finish it might stick a bit, but it should still come right off leaving a slight tone change on the paint below.

You can put it on a flat coat or a gloss coat Sebastian... Flat coats will soak up more paint and the effect is more localized and intense. Gloss it's much less of an effect. It still shouldn't have done what happened to your kit.
I still don't know how you got it off with water... that actually shouldn't have worked. haha.
Weird.

dunno if i'm late but just have to point this out: if those paints did come off via water than they might be water based oil paints? i do not know that particular brand but yes there are water based oil paints in the market for some time which don't need any kind of smelly spirit to work with but plain water (in most cases)!

if this is the case it might be a good idea trying the paints elsewhere first to determine whether they would work ok with water...

Yup... he's right on there.
I just did some checking Sebastian vermeer are water based oils.
So.. that means that you should be able to use your dot filter, but use water as the thinner.

A very light one... yes :th:
I'm guessing you did a pretty good job trying to remove it because you thought that you made a mistake.
It's entirely up to you if you want to try it again.
If you are happy with the way it works then I would leave it alone.
You can experiment on the bottom of the tank and see if you like it.
I do that all the time.

Schoof you can attack that peeled off decal with wet sandpaper, ~1200 should do, remove it completely then use one of the other tonnage decals coming with the kit and finally varnish and weather the glacis plate once more. if you are worrying about realism, don't bother, nothing is proper with this leopard of tamiya, it's probably a prototype or a very very early variant anyway...

And I'm looking forward to see that cobblestone Road. ..
Did you tried to sand that ruined decal with some 1200 grid sandpaper?
You said in you video you had one extra decal, so sanding it down and replace it would do the trick. But that is just my thought. Just don't give up on this model Sebastiaan, it's looking really great! And we all make mistakes and lean from them. Keep up the good work! :thumb2:
